So I got a hunk of Chaeto from a pet store a few weeks ago at first it looked great, now I noticed it is covered in what I believe are Scypha sponges just from googling images. I have also found Digitate hydroids in my chaeto and starting to pop up in my sump. The chaeto is starting to turn more white than green even with regular cleaning and under light for atleast 12 hours a night, I have red gracilaria in my refugium also and it is growing wonderdfully and fully of color. So not sure if I should just can this chaeto and start again or what. Also is there anything I can do to get rid of these digitate hydroids? I have heard they can be bad news.

Toss it out if it has Digitate hydroids. YOU DONT WANT THOSE. Clean that sump out good too to get rid of them.

As far as it turning white, might be flow, or lighting (too much or too little).
