Taking pics of a BioCube

OK... so I do photography for a living, but I can't seem to get my head around shooting through the front pane of a BioCube. Every time I try this, the photos turn out blurry. I know it's because of the slight bowing of the glass, but what has anyone else done to get around this without having to shoot from the left or right side of the tank or from the top?

My tank is best viewed from the front. Where I have some corals placed, I can't get photos of them from the sides.

Post some examples so we can see.

I know you don't want to shoot from the sides, but are you at least able to get decent shots from the sides?

The lens should be as parallel to the glass as you can make it. Use a tripod to help align the camera (this will also help reduce motion blur). Shut off the pumps and powerheads so they are not causing any movement. Your shutter speed is probably going to be pretty long so anything that you can do to keep things still will help.

Obviously faster shutter speeds will freeze the motion better, but (as you know) that will come at the expense of higher ISO settings. Use at least f/8 aperture to get your subject in focus.

It's hard to make recommendations since you already know most of this. To get more stunning photos, it might be necessary to switch to a low iron flat panel tank.

What camera (and lens) are you using? What settings have you been trying? Do you use aperture priority or full manual mode?

I don't have any examples now, I'll shoot some off either later today or tomorrow and show you what I mean. When I shoot from the sides, I get great photos because the glass is flat, unlike the front, but I can't see the corals that well...

I already use a tripod when needed. I know about making sure the lens is parallel with the glass. I do shut off powerheads and pumps when shooting.

I'm shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II and a 100mm f/2.8. Manual Mode

I kinda had a feeling the only way around this is to get a tank with a flat front

Yeah, it's kind of silly trying to give pointers to a pro. I'm thinking that even your bad pics aren't really that bad.
