Not bad looking. The mixture of LED temps they chose to use for the full spectrum version looks quite promising. Not getting as high of a PAR reading as I would have though it would, though.

Interested in seeing what the more knowledgeable LED guru's have to say about this.

Seeing as the Cree EZ1000 is available in royal blue, blue, or green, I don't get how they're getting additional color unless they're using remote phosphor, in which case they are no long Cree LEDs.

Looks cool until you see the measly amount of light that it emits on full power. You might be able to grow zoas if they are in the middle of the tank and 2" below the water surface...

Based on the numbers given it'd work fine on a pico or nano tank. Be a decent color boost spotlight for anyone wanting to take a Japanese approach to lighting.

.... or you could get a Nanobox 'budget' Mini.

and buy a controller upgrade to bring the mini's functionality up.

And that's based on your personal experience right?

I still can't believe that the refugium/algae version is 230 bucks. wtf? Maxspect, you so crazy.

What did you expect? They're all made the same way with the same capabilities.

Yeah, I know. It was the fuge light that made me go "Oh wait, that's a lot for that little spotlight." I guess if you have a REALLY nice planted tank or something.

Exactly for just reds and whites. Why spend 230 dollars for a fuge light when theres no need for fancy lighting to grow plants.Even if you did have a nice planted its only 35 watt reds and whites like my 90 dollar finnex planted plus. It might have alittle more par for deeper tanks but for there price I'd just buy a kessil amazon sun, for my fuge sure as shit ill put a 12" finnex planted plus for 40 bucks or less.

Oh and this is for ben.. how did you get into building your own lights and what's the best source of info for starting out. Its something I'd like to try , having wiring and handy diy ability. It amazes m what u and evil build and to think what these name brand companys put out for top dollar can't compare. Thanks
