Nano#man623
I'm looking for a diy top off anyone have good pictures of your diy top off and a step by step and a equipment list to Link to comment
farkwar
I know you want to diy but this is snail proof, low water proof, high water proof. It doesn't use float switches. Its inexpensive. The sensor is small enough to hide even in a pico. I don't think you could build a better one. I can build an great ATO, and I can't. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/hydor-smart-level-controller-auto-top-off.html Link to comment
Ruckus16
That's pretty awesome. Does it come with everything you need? Pump? Link to comment
CatfishSoupFTW
I have been eyeing this system, it looks pretty dope. I am in need of one for my 10 gal nano. it doesnt look like it comes with a pump though :/ Link to comment
evilc66
Just buy a pump that suits the needs of the particular tank. It's not like they are all that expensive. Heck, most of us have a pump lying around that will work to some degree. Link to comment
joy13
I have tried several atos I haven't tried the hydor one yet, it is probably a matter of time. I got a deal on a tunze nano and really like it, I have tried diy, autotopoff.com, jbj and something off ebay. For a tank without a sump I really like the tunze, If you are looking for a good pump they sell it separate http://aquarium.bulkreefsupply.com/search?asug=&view=grid&cnt=16&w=Tunze+Osmolator+Replacement+Metering+Pump+5000.02 or http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/aqua-lifter-vacuum-pump.html even a maxi jet will work. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/aquahub-diy-top-it-off-kit-premium.html Link to comment
Ruckus16
Would a small fountain pump work? Link to comment
joy13
Unless it is a very weak pump it would be to much. You don't need much of a pump to pump the small amount of water that it takes for an ato. Link to comment
Ruckus16
Ok. What do most people use as a reservoir for their top off water (where the pump would be housed)? Link to comment
