Hello and welcome to my overpowered Fluval Edge 6G Build Thread!

As you may have noticed I added the term "overpowered" to the title ... Well it is (a little) ...

Build Specs:

Tank:

  • Fluval Edge 6G

Sump:

  • 14G Standard Glass Tank

Lighting:

  • Nephew killed my old DIY LED Array, so I had to reorder from LEDgroupbuy.com
  • Pictures of the finished LED Array will follow. (I'm currently running on one Royal Blue LED Strip & 11W CC)

Water Movement:

  • Eheim Compact 1000L/H
  • Korallia Nano 900

##Here we go with the "overpowered" part:

Skimmer:

  • Bubble Magus C5

Sump Equipment:

  • 2,2 lbs of Live Rock
  • Sicce 1.5 for my Biopellets Filter
  • 9w Tetra UV Sterilizer
  • 3,5 lbs of Miracle Mud
  • 1x Bubble Magus Filter Sock
  • Auto Top Off System

Other things:

  • DIY Overflow
  • 2x 120mm Fans (1 to keep humidity low and 1 to cool the water down) and 1x 140mm Fan (for cooling the LED Heatsink)
  • Everything controlled over Jarduino

Pics!

Wow that's great! What are your plans for stocking it?

Euphyllia's, Zoa's, Acans and at least 1 Scoly ... Maybe something else ... I'll see that when cycling is done ...

Fish: Maybe a Blenny or Sexy Shrimps? I'm not sure yet

Looks like an "Alien Explosion Zoa"

Am i right? :)

Too bad it's on the live rock located in my sump ... I'll frag it when it grows a little bigger and then transfer it to the display tank

My cycle hits pretty hard right now ... Nitrite is going down slowly and Nitrate is building up (currently at 100ppm) ... I'll do a water change tomorrow

Legendary Corals

Can't wait to see this cycled in! That's crazy how you were able to sump it and still keep the water filled up to the edge to keep the "edge" look. Would love to see how you did it!

Thank you!

It took me 3 tries to get everything sealed and I took more than a Week to get the overflow how it is today.

I'll post some pictures and a new FTS soon :)

(I seriously let this thread die because nobody seems to have it noticed haha)
