hey guys,

im pretty new to the salt water game so im looking for a bit of advice. i currently have two tanks, a 30 anemone tank and a 8 gallon nano cube. i had an extra clown in the 30 tank that was being picked on so i moved it to the nano cube.

a small spot of ich has formed on his pelvic fin. i do not have any other tank i can pull him out and put him in, so my question is what is the best method to get rid of the ich? Garlic in the food, a 10 minute freshwater dip? and suggestions would be helpful.

thanks in advanced,

-braden

If he was getting picked on it may not be ich. Either way he should be removed and put somewhere. How big is the spot? Can you post a pic? Ich looks like salt was sprinkled on them. You can get a pretty cheap 10 gallon qt setup for like 40 bucks from petco or if you have an extra filter and heater go for the dollar a gallon. When I first started (over a year ago I bought an angel who brought a very minor case of ich into the tank. One of the clowns got it too. I used kick ich and it worked but I'm not rexommending it because over a year later I bought a hippo (yes I know known for ich qt him for two weeks and even preventively treated for ich. Never saw a spot. As soon as he went in to display he got ich and kick ich no longer worked. Lost the tang. No other fish got sick but my water params are perfect and I also use garlic sparingly on their food w vitamins. They MAY be immune but I will certainly NOT add anymore fish

By the way I also keep nano reefs (8 g and 14 g which is why I am here). This happened in my 55 which is now a 75

If he's eating that's good too but if it's it or brooklnella something contagious you could infect the rest of your tank. I was lucky. I doesn't usually work the way it did for me and a lot of people lose their fish especially in such a small tank

Old rheas sorry. Hope your fish is ok
