farkwar
While back I read a thread about using a high power laser(1000mW) for pest removal. Would that even be possible, with the water cooling the target? Link to comment

brandon429
Here it is. If anyone buys one I'd pay a rental fee to use it + goggles for a weekend ! This could zap red mushrooms for sure. Have to watch that retinal burn its a doozy. No pets or family in the room...serious pest welding I think this runs 280.00 thats too much I don't have. You can easily light a cigarette with this thing http://www.reefs.org/forums/topic154032.html Link to comment

tibbsy07
I've seen this. Even looked into it myself, but wow, you can do some damage. Link to comment
farkwar
Seems like ebay has some form of restriction on them. Besides one flier, they seem to be limited to 5mW. hmm Link to comment
kylhcky
please wear proper eye protection with a 1 watt laser. it needs to have a lens that can focus the beam as well. i have various mw lasers and wave lengths, and it honestly only takes about 100-150 mw to start burning things with a laser. for something that puts out 1 watt, id expect to spend at least $200 (that being a cheap china one) Link to comment
