Jimmyboo
There's no way this discussion should be posted in the beginner's section. Nuff said! Its just a casual convo. Link to comment
BulkRate
Gulfsurfer- Actually as a starter pico vase, h. Rubra are pretty forgiving... no heater, flow or particular lighting needs; heck even maintaining proper salinity's almost optional. But yeah I see your point. Sorry fer the sidetrack, OP. gulfsurfer101
The feeding requirements alone set the h rubra apart from a seahorse. My main concern is there's plenty of noobs that have successfully kept seahorses alive in low flow tanks dedicated to thier sole being. Why change that up and seal it off into what will ultimately be it's coffin. My advice would be search out and research successful horse tanks and implement those practices into your own reefing and enjoy a successful and beautiful tank. Link to comment
Gilligan
It sounds like it would be easier to keep a real horse in a jar? Link to comment

Horerczy
The idea is sound until you add seahorses to the equation. Then it's absolutely bonkers. Sealing a tank completely would be impossible though. Even PJ Reefs pico jars need water changes occasionally. Sealed betta vases are one of the last things i ever try to sell customers for a reason.
