kuririn986
I am about to start my 6.5 Gallon tank, but I am a bit unsure about the amount of flow I should use. I have a Aquaclear 30, but I also wanted to add a Hydor nano, but should I use the 240 or 425? I am not going to keep any SPS, but I wanted to have good flow to help with keeping the tank clean. This will be a bare bottom tank, so no need to worry about sand storms. Thanks Link to comment
cpR
I think you could get away with a 240 or 425 as it is really only going to be used to keep detritus from settling, but if you are wanting the "clean" look in the tank I would buy a small canister filter and have the in-take and output be the only things in the tank, this will be enough flow and keep the heater/pumps hidden. When I ran my 7.5g I had a AC50 and since I had a blue box MP10 laying around, I threw that on there using a very low speed......I think either of the two pumps you mentioned would work well though Link to comment
