Wavemaker vs Pump Controller.

I've been weighing the possibility of getting something like a tunze wavemaker or mp40 etc versus getting something like a hydor pump controller and I was wondering if someone could give me an idea of what advantages the wavemakers have that justify their costs over the controllers?

The tank I'm considering it for is relatively small, a 46 gallon bow with mostly lps and clams, but probably a few sps at the crest.

I had seen that as well in my search, much more reasonable to be sure. Personally, I've always used Hydors and would just as soon get a pump controller for that, but I've heard so many people swear by tunzes and other wavemakers that I was just curious if they had some advantage over them.

I'm using the Hydor wavemaker. Basically kicks the pumps on and off at minimum 5 seconds up to 6 hours I believe. I like it, but not as much as my mp10's. It might be worth looking into the WP-10 or 25 series pumps to. I'll probably give one a try.

The advantage of it would be more random currents.
