markalot
I mounted mine like a monti cap. I glued a chunk of epoxy to the rock, let it set for a few minutes, then glued the chalice to the epoxy. You can see it here, left of the center of the tank. I believe I mounted it too high and it's growing down toward the sandbed. Link to comment
Ruester007
I ended up cutting a short piece of PVC and gluing the pvc to the chalice and puttying the pvc to the rock. It should encrust the PVC quickly. Link to comment

Is there a reason you didn't putty it straight to the rock? How high up did you put it? I remember a year ago they were so expensive, nowadays the LFS' around here carry 4"x6" chunks for $60 Link to comment

I remember a year ago they were so expensive, nowadays the LFS' around here carry 4"x6" chunks for $60 I super glued to a piece of pvc to lift it a little and so I could get a grip in it. Last time a put a similar piece in I cracked it trying to get it to bond to the putty. Use a flashlight a while after the lights have gone out. I'm always amazed by how the thinnest corals have such long sweepers! I think I watch my tank more at night than I do in the daytime. I love the tank at night and it makes for interesting photos as well. Link to comment
