What is the best way to attach a Hollywood Stunner Chalice?

Glue it or leave it on the glass or PVC ring

It is not mounted on anything right now. I might be gluing it down tonight.

I mounted mine like a monti cap. I glued a chunk of epoxy to the rock, let it set for a few minutes, then glued the chalice to the epoxy. You can see it here, left of the center of the tank. I believe I mounted it too high and it's growing down toward the sandbed.

I ended up cutting a short piece of PVC and gluing the pvc to the chalice and puttying the pvc to the rock. It should encrust the PVC quickly.

Remember hollywood stunners have super long sweepers and love to fight for turn. Don't put anything within 3" of that bad boy

I'll have to look out for them. I haven't noticed them yet. I have very little experience with these.

Is there a reason you didn't putty it straight to the rock?

How high up did you put it?

I remember a year ago they were so expensive, nowadays the LFS' around here carry 4"x6" chunks for $60

Use a flashlight a while after the lights have gone out. I'm always amazed by how the thinnest corals have such long sweepers!

I super glued to a piece of pvc to lift it a little and so I could get a grip in it. Last time a put a similar piece in I cracked it trying to get it to bond to the putty.

I think I watch my tank more at night than I do in the daytime. I love the tank at night and it makes for interesting photos as well.
