Monsieur Kam
I got a small kenya tree frag on one of my other frags. I received the frag about 2 weeks ago, and it just has not been very well since I got it. It opened for one day about a week ago and has not opened since and is getting a darker purple color. I have tried moving it from high flow to low flow and no changes. All of my other corals are doing fine and water checks out. Is this normal for a Kenya tree or is it dyeing? Link to comment
DC5
This may be a blessing for you. Kenya trees will absolutely explode in population over time, and they can grow very thick. Once they start dropping baby kenya trees all over your tank, you are going to be fighting an infestation of them. That said, mine would do that after I fragged them, etc, but unless it perks up soon, I doubt it will make it. Link to comment
ps2cho
Mine just died over the course of a few days for unknown reason. They randomly just die. I dont think anybody really knows why yet. Won't be getting another one. Link to comment
Bobyboy
Mine is picky, some days it's open and happy then for no reason at all it'll close up for a day up to a week then it's just fine again. I keep mine isolated in its own corner with low flow and the sprout just drop below and normally grow from the base or if they get to the sand I glue them to frag plugs and sell them. Link to comment
BluCrab
Kenya trees are real dicks... some days their all limp and some days they are reaching for the stars. just give it time to settle and stop moving it around. That being said the only time mine started fragging itself was when I fragged it first. It's a pain in the but but heck I found a LFS that gives me credit for small clippings. Heck I made $40 credit on 8 clippings just about a month ago. Link to comment
