kriskristofferzen
I have a 75 gallon reef. Going to start dosing kalk via mrs wages pickling lime. I'm starting low with 1tsp per gallon in my 6 gallon ATO. I read randy Holmes info about vinegar aiding in the dissolution of additional caco3 in solution. He said 1 tbsp will saturate the solution and 45 ml of vinegar will supersaturated it if I read correctly; both per gallon of ATO. So if I'm starting low with my dosing should I just forgo the vinegar addition or cut it in 1/3 and mix in 1 tbsp of vinegar per gallon of ATO? I have a mixed reef tank. Thanks! Link to comment
SantaMonica
Probably easier to not add vinegar to start with. See how the test go first. Link to comment
baldbean
Skip the vinegar and just use kalk alone. If you find that 2 tsp per gallon is not sufficient then add vinegar. Link to comment
