Pairing Ocellaris Clownfish

Currently in my 20g the only fish I have is my Ocellaris Clownfish. I wanted to have 2 but I had no where else to keep the clown fish I already had. I understand that the best way to get 2 clown fish to not fight as much is to introduce them at the same time. Could I take the original one out temporarily, and then move the rock configuration, and put the new one and the original in together?

Get a breeder box put it in it and rearrange the tank a bit, introduce them at the same time if your'e really worried. I bought a new male for my female when the old male died. took a week or so but they were fine after he learned his role. like sugardaddy said just make sure the new one is smaller

I added mine 8 months after having another in there, the second was slightly bigger which may have had some impact on the situation, but they never fought. They became buddies immediately. I'd say if your ocellaris is more aggressive then take precautions but from my experience they pair pretty easily.

I purchased a snowflake and then a naked about two months later. Been buddy's ever since introducing them. Mine were pretty much the same size as well.

Yep, same here. All my clowns seemed to just have paired off almost instantly the minute they hit the tank. I have a larger Darwin/snow onyx pair and I have a juvenile snow onyx pair that are just showing signs of pairing off. I was able to capture video of them doing thier little ritual. They do this to assert dominacy.

Thanks for all the replies :)

I think I'm going to get one of the really small clown fish at my LFS, take the original out of the tank,

and then put them both back in at the same time.
