Innovative marine nuvo owners?

Hi guys, I want to get a IM Nuvo 8. I wanted to know from owners if the top lid of the tank gets fogged up by water droplets or not? Do you have to wipe down the lid often?

I have a Nuvo 16. Like all tank covers / lid - it does collect a little salt creep - evap will cause droplets to collect on the underside. They are small lids, very easy to wash and wipe dry. I do it once a week during wc.

I've gone overseas for 3 weeks and I find the lids are still fairly clean. Not a big issue. Why is it a concern of yours on the Novu 8?

I mount the glass lid a little higher at the back.. The droplets slide off. I don't see much droplets. You can try no lid... Just make sure you don't have fish jumpers and be prepared to top off your water frequently.

Droplets collect on the lid within a few hours of me cleaning the lid. My tank is kept at 78 and my apartment air temp has been around 65, so that differential is likely a contributing factor. I imagine things will slow a bit in the summer as air temps and humidity rises. I usually clean the lid of salt creep once a week. I don't feel like the droplets really interfere with light penetration or my ability to view the tank.

Agreed! No real problem when the do accumulate. I clean mine a few times a week just because I'm, well..me..and I do that stuff, no real need though.

You guys ever tried rubbing a vinegar solution to the lid? Apparently keeps it cleaner for much longer?

I heard that too... but i'm not going to risk it. Vinegar has a very low acidity. It may get into my water and cause PH swings.

It gets annoying after a while.

I ended up making a screen top for my tank.

I used a ATO and never worried about evap this way.

I have a Nuvo 8 (love it) The water that forms on the top glass piece is from evaporation and condensation and doesn't have salt in it (I checked - don't ask how..lol) and it's only on the underside of the glass

When I work in the tank, I tilt the glass back and let the drops fall back into the tank before I remove it.

I only had problems with salt creep once, when the return pump i added was too strong and pushed water under the clips. otherwise it stays clean.
