Accidently left rodi flush valve on...

I usually turn the valve open for 5mins before making my rodi water...but today I left it on for 6hrs.

Did I reduce my sediment carbon or any cartridges at all?

Sure... they had to process all the water that passed through them. Even though that's a lot of water, I'd guess that they aren't totally exhausted.

i would replace your cotton and carbon filter. Im not sure how ####ed your membrane is tho. Test the TDS coming out of the RO membrane and see if the TDS is a few percent of the tap water's TDS

AZDesertRat says that you really don't have to flush the membrane. I would actually move the bypass to after the membrane, so you can start up the unit without running high TDS (from TDS creep) water through your DI resin. The TDS creep only lasts a minute before returning to normal levels, then you can redirect it back through your DI resin. Otherwise, your DI resin will have to process the high TDS water (shortening its life a little).

Flush kits are usually a waste of money and have no proven documented value. If you do keep it then the proper way to use it is to flush for a few minutes AFTER making RO/DI wate rto flush the accumulate wastes away from the membrane during its use.

I prefer a DI bypass valve myself as it does really do something. The flush kit flushes the waste side of the RO membrane so you will still have accumulated TDS creep on the treated side of the membrane each time you start the system which it does not help. By installing a DI bypass valve between the RO membrane and the DI filter, on the treated side, you can open it each time you START the system and flush the TDS creep out before it exhausts your DI prematurely. This has $$ value other than just a warm fuzzy feeling.
