I blame Tibbsy for this tank lol !!! He inspired me to simplify and shrink :) I'm starting with dry rock to avoid as many unwanted inhabitants as possible. There's no substrate. Plans are simple. Cover the rock with various SPS. Cover the bottom with ricordia.

Lighting is from my Kessil A350W. I know - HOLY LIGHT BATMAN!!!!! - it's dialed down lol.

I'm going to pick up a small HOB filter - prolly the smallest AC so I have a mechanical way of removing stuff (gives shedding cats a filthy look).

I'm not planning any fish but will add a small CUC as needed.

Putting it on the breakfast bar where I can see it from all over :)

From a 40B, to a 20L, to a 10?

Yeah...going full circle...actually started with a 10 many years ago :) I still have the 20L - I'm just moving the SPS from it. The only one not in operation is the 40b.

Lol - I look forward to seeing this one. I assume you are taking the 20L down?

So far it's up and running but I may take stuff into my LFS for store credit and concentrate on the 10 only. I think the 20 was a hiccup between the 40 and 10 lol (sorry for blaming this on you Tibbs but I love your tank)

I like your rock setup man, looks awesome

Actually it's woMAN but thanks lol :D

Nice scape.

Thanks :)

Sweet scape, i'll be following along!

Thank you. It's made from 3 rocks, 1 large, i medium (the bridge) and one small. They all seem to fit together like a jigsaw :)

There you go I really like that scape can I have it.

You don't need it - your scape ROCKS !!!!! :D (but, thanks for the kind words - I am liking it :))

Oh god my apologies!

hahaha no offense taken  . Having my Jeep as an avatar doesn't help - it's not very "girlie" lol.

Hahaha, I'm usually to blame for something ;)

Glad you are doing what you want for a tank, and I'm glad you like my 5g so much - I'm not even that happy with it :D

I've been guilty of calling you man for months now. Slap my self in the head the other day when I realize I was wrong

Looking forward to being able to control most params with water changes :)

Using water changes to fix things in a tank for the most part really makes this hobby easy. But I hate all the gadgets and dosing and this and that really stresses me out, I have kids don't need to spend half my week on a damn tank.

You just summed up exactly how I'm feeling. I'm on the opposite end with my kids. They're now 20 and 24 and out of the house so hubby and I want to do more stuff. Being tank slave isn't one of them. Hence my trying the 40,20 and now hopefully settling in a 10.

I was thinking about a 40b then I thought to myself that will me I'll have to do double the maintenance that I have to with this 20. I was thinking the 40 would be nice because I can put a frag rack in it but na. I'll just get another 20 long and use it as a sump frag tank.

Yeah stick with the 20. I found my 40 was just more cost and more time. - not that I'm knocking them...if money and time are no object then they're a great size. I'm wanting to simplify at this stage :)

Cycling !!!!

Drumming fingers with impatience :)

I put the AC110 on the back full of LR from the 20L and things seems to be settling down.

Small tanks are the way to go. Not too expensive to get in to, not too much maintenance. If it crashes, it's easy to start up again without tons and tons of cash. I'm all about 10 and under.

It was you who inspired me to go small again. So far I'm LOVING it :) I'm just in the cycling stage but there's something cool about seeing a reef in miniature.
