nibor
After a discussion on here a few weeks ago, I am making a calculator for rimless aquariums. Original thread is here: http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/340174-rimless-aquarium-help-yes-i-used-google-head-really-hurts/. This will be similar to the calculator for braced tanks posted at http://www.fnzas.org.nz/?p=1732. I have all the formulas needed but currently am missing some values for shallow tanks. As it is, my calculator gives thicker than needed glass values if the height of the tank is less than half the length. Are there any Mech. Eng students who can help me find the following paper? I finished college years ago and no longer have access to these things. Google is a total fail for papers published nearly 80 years ago. The paper is: Wojtaszak, I. A.: Stress and Deflection of Rectangular Plates, ASME Paper A-71, J. Appl. Mech., vol. 3, no. 2, 1936. Thanks. Link to comment
