Corals receding after adding chemi pure elite!

I've been running Purigen along with my filter floss on my 17 gallon for about 3 months with no issues. Today I purchased a 6.5 ounce bag of chemi pure elite after reading such wonderful reviews. All of my corals particulary my lps and zoas have receded. My hammer and blasto are fully closed. I rinsed the bag with RO/Di water very well and I added a new filter floss pad with it.

Could the chemi pure elite have stripped my water to fast and caused water shock?

Should I wait a couple days to see if my corals improve or should I remove it immediately?

I have a 10 gallon. My filter is a Marineland 350 Biowheel. Instead of traditional media I have live rock rubble in the compartments - 3.5lbs total. I have a bag of purigen on both sides, and filter floss. I haven't needed anything more than this. Activated carbon is very powerful at cleaning out water and air. If it's the only thing that's changed I would assume that it is the cause. But the fact that everything is closed doesn't mean anything bad, they just might need time to acclimate again.

I would remove it because I see no point in cleaning something that isn't dirty. Save it for if you have a disease outbreak, or spill something toxic in the tank, maybe something dies in the future and you took to long to pull it out, etc. But I don't actually know wtf is going on in there.

Take it out, then think about it. Could be water clarity and light shock, could be phosphate drop, could be something else.

+1. If you do something that really pisses off the tank, you should try to reverse it as quickly as possible
