Made a trip down to an LFS I've never been to. I've wanted to stop by here before but never had the chance. Absolutely insane ... what an amazing LFS. Some stuff was $500+!! I picked up a few little things...

A couple shots from the LFS...

What's this kind of fish? He was less than an inch in size - picture makes him appear larger. SUCH a cool fish.. a box fish or something like that I believe? Could he survive in a Spec V ?? .... hahaha probably not..

I made a bi-color blenny turn into a barnacle blenny! :D :D

FTS.. I'm so pleased with the progress, and how things are starting to make me really happy again. I've still got bubble algae, but I'm being very diligent with it (on the glass/ back wall.)

:) Thanks for all the support guys!

That LFS looks spectacular! Do you mind sharing the name?

Lenny looks so happy in those barnacles! And those rics are really nice. I think my first tank is gonna one big ricordea garden.

Thanks guys! This place is called "Wai's Aquarium" .. I don't even think they have a website. Seems like it's literally run by one older Asian man - I was incredibly impressed. I'll be going back there lots. He had EVERYTHING. Like, every type of light, ATO's, RO/DI's, sump tanks prebuild, etc. Insane place.. I'll have to snap more pics next time.

$200 per "piece" from that hammer/ torch/ frogspawn tank I pictured above. Steeeep, but quality. I can already tell the difference in these Ric's versus my old LFS Ric's......

The one ric' at the bottom of the rock, I'm going to be moving eventually I think.. I'm not sure yet though. I want more of them, though.

The one on the top of the barnacle is huge, tough to see the mouth though.

Also going to be feeding 'Reef Roids'.

Love love love those barnacles kij! Lenny the blenny looks like he's in heaven lol Dang those rics are awesome too, rics still remain some of my favorite corals :) Looking fantastic once again man

A ricordea covered barnacle would be awesome! great pickups. The new FTS looks great, although I wonder if it will look better to have the barnacles side by side instead of stacked on top of each other. Just a thought =P.

I noticed your salt creep building in the corners, i actually just popped off the black corner tabs on all 4 corners and my salt creep completely went away. I may have to clean salt creep around my overflow once every few months and now creep in the front corners of the display. Just an FYI.

Heh, was just editing a few shots from today! :P Nothing new, taking it slow moving ahead now to ensure stability and reduce risk..

(Moved that one Ric from the sand, up on to this rock. It's happier being up here, opens up much bigger than in the sand.)

Things are doing great. All of the corals a LOVING the reef roid. I'm being diligent on water changes, and being generous on the reef roids for the time being. They're all responding very positively to the new food. As soon as I put a small scoop into the water they all open up! :)

I think "taking it slow" is the prevailing theme of almost every successful reef I've read about.

Tank looks awesome! Everytime I see a picture of a cleaner shrimp it makes me want one more and more. And I dont even have a tank yet! I wonder if anyone has set up a saltwater shrimp-only tank (excluding mantis shrimp of course).

Can't wait to see you upgrade kijho!

"Excluding Mantis shrimp of course?" What's wrong with Mantis shrimp? I think they are wonderful, beautiful and intelligent little creatures.

Pretty sure he was just saying that it has been done a few times before so he knows the mantis shrimp species tanks exist. It seems like he was just wondering about other shrimp only tanks. Don't think he is ragging on the organisms themselves...

Cswan had it right; I think mantis shrimp are very interesting indeed. I was just wondering if someone has done something like a cleaner shrimp colony. That could make for a really interesting build in a smaller tank like a 10 gal.

Wow that's look ng great. I haven't been here in a while oops. Just got a job so school and work have been crazy. That local fish store looks killer. Are those display reef tanks or drag tanks that look too good to be drag tanks XD. I say you make the tank ricordia/acan dominated. Would be so colourful and relatively low maintenance, plus I'm pretty sure that's what your current stock is anyways

Awesome! Just got a tailspot blenny and love the guy! He sits on the highest rock watching the tank all day haha however I have four fish in a 10 and the maintenance has been annoying not gonna lie, but idk what fish to get rid of? A clown pair, purple firefish, and tailspot blenny
