misbar Posted March 17, 2014 Share Posted March 17, 2014 I'm using the Red Sea Kit ( Algae control pro) and both readings are zero, But My hair Algae is still growing strong ( I dose with AlgaeFix and then pull all HA out) But for the past year my readings are always zero on Nitrates and Po ( even with other test kits) what do I do in this situation in terms of dosing? gsgentry Posted March 18, 2014 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I believe that you can have phosphates yet they are being consumed by the GHA therefore won't register on the test kits. So it will appear you don't have any. Link to comment

The algae issue in the reef/fish tank most likely due to overload corals, lack of water change, over feeding, incorrect flow or bad setup, old light bulbs. The UV sterilizer will help you to eliminated and control algae. Link to comment
