ALNN
So im pretty sure most of you seen me around the hobby . I start my first saltwater tank last year of march and i love every part of it! But as you all know space becomes a rather big issue as we all start collecting the corals and fish we love the most. The tank i started with was a mere 5.5G pico/nano tank to help me slowly work into the hobby with my busy schedule. i personally loved how the small tank was very low maintenance as long as i keep up with the maintenance routine that i set for myself. But now i crave for more space and more space i shall get! I picked up a Nuvo 24G tank from The Coral Reef shop a few weeks back, and i must say i was well worth the drive. The place has a nice and clean design and the people there were super friendly and nice. I got the tank home and had it sit in the basement until last weekend went i finally got time to open it up So finally had a weekends off that i wasnt working so i went to Ikea to get myself something to work with. Pick up a drawer set that was within budget and brought it home to build. This also gave me some time to clean up the basement since it was a MESS! was able to fit all the board games and aquarium stuff into it! my gf has a "snake&latte" kinda place running in our basement for friend I have a lighting system coming in soon and will be doing some scaping this coming week So here is what it looks like now enjoy.Smart phone photos Nuvo 24G still boxedhttp://s210.photobucket.com/user/aL-n/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140308_232721_resized_zps32d7def4.jpg.html'>Drawer Sethttp://s210.photobucket.com/user/aL-n/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140308_232734_resized_zpsd6ecf8f8.jpg.html'>Finalhttp://s210.photobucket.com/user/aL-n/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140309_175713_resized_zpse6ab2eeb.jpg.html'>This will be a slow build compare to my 5.5g so be patience with me! gsgentry
Welcome to the Nuvo 24 club!!! If you don't have a way to measure the glass, you can tell by your serial number as well. Link to comment

TeamIM24
What is the serial number on the tank? You don't want the early generation thinner glass 24. Hope that you have the later model that came out with thicker glass. I think you want your serial number to be 400 or higher. Link to comment
Cameron6796
Uhm yeah the highest I saw explode was 437 but it's been months so I assume that they don't even have any in that range Link to comment
ALNN
Ummm not sure what the number is on it....hmmm but the glass looks like its 1/4 or 3/8... I hopw this doesnt explode.... I tested it with water for a good month of it just running (without rock) now its drained and im working on the rockscape. Btw I have the Tunze Nano DOC 9002 skimmer...and I see all these mod being done to it...im kinda lost as to what mod I should do on it for better tuning and skimming. Can someone fill me in maybe? Nuvo 24 owner? Ill know the exact number or glass thickness tomorrow after im off work Link to comment
Cameron6796
Okay if you have a pair of callipers they will be your friend if its like 4.5-4.75 mm then it's the old one they advertise 6mm but it's not even that Link to comment
ALNN
Yah I have the old one. Its 4.8mm ish. I hope nothing bad happens to it Link to comment
TeamIM24
Yah I have the old one. Its 4.8mm ish. I hope nothing bad happens to it Make sure the tank is perfectly level and I wouldn't recommend an MP10. I know there are some people with the original thin ones like you have that haven't had an issue but it just seems like a ticking time bomb. Do you know if the LFS will exchange it for store credit (maybe upgrade to the new 20?)? Link to comment
Cameron6796
Yes don't keep it it is a disaster waiting to happen... Omg I'm flipping tell your lfs rn and email or call innovative marine as soon as they are open get all water outta it... Just realized its midnight tell ur lfs and Im rn Link to comment
ALNN
The problem is that the lfs probably wont ve taking it back cause they dont carry nuvo anymore....and I brought this back around march.. :/ There is currently no water in it. But I dont think innovation will take it back either after like a good 6 month Link to comment
Cameron6796
Ope they will another member recently got a brand new tank because of their old one exploding just say you have seen the horror stories and don't feel comfortable setting it up. They should most definetly take it back and replace with a fusion30 Link to comment
