ps2cho
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=141199784741&view=all&tid=931911391004 Uses 3w Bridgelux LED's. 12 of them. Chinese PAR38 LED unit. Here's some photos. Spread is not amazing....but for $26 shipped, I think its the perfect QT light to keep the corals alive during the QT process. Cannot be beaten! Blue's are 460-465nm Whites are 6500-12000k 60 degree lens I wouldn't use this for a DT, but just wanted to post this up for those who want something for a QT. There's no reason to spend a ton of cash for a QT. The point is to avoid pests and get them out of the QT ASAP, not to leave them in their to grow. Link to comment
Chew_Magna
Not too shabby. I'd remove the dome though, those things can get hot and need to breathe. That dome just holds the heat in there. Link to comment
ps2cho
It does indeed get hot after I touched it! I guess I need a new gooseneck since this one has the clamp attached to the dome. Link to comment
Chew_Magna
You can still remove that, I use those to hang my par38's. I just take the dome and clamp off, screw a hook into the stand or w/e, and zip tie the cord to the hook. Link to comment
Tamberav
hm, I wonder how it would be as a fuge light? Link to comment
ps2cho
probably much better than a regular house bulb! Link to comment
MeepNand
Looks nice. Although 6500k-12000k is a wide rage. Link to comment

ps2cho
I just received a good variety of Acropora's -- they will be lit using this bulb for a while. I will report how it goes. Link to comment
ps2cho
The acros had polyps out for the 2 weeks I had them in there. I'd say its perfectly fine for a QT system to handle anything. Link to comment

ps2cho
Any color changes? I don't think having polyps out means much for lighting. Well sure, but that will happen with any change. The frags according to his site were under MH, so under any LED they might lose some color. I still had green tips on some of the acros. Link to comment
Tamberav
Yes but not all LEDs are equal so some may see more dramatic changes than others. I was curious as to color changes because I wouldn't want to buy a sweet coral and have it fade in the frag tank then have to recolor it back up. Link to comment
