JR!
Reef savvy tanks are amazing I have seen a few in person Link to comment
Alex B
I just checked their site out. And watched a vid with Felix. High attention to detail, is what comes across. That ghost overflow is still going to get all covered in coralline, except in the extreme OCD reefers' systems. I like the angled front nanos they have in their portfolio. They need to use the black XinXouts though. Very interesting. I've seen a lot of reef savvy tanks since I'm local to them. Nothing short of amazing. I'll go out on a limb and say they are the nicest overall tanks I've seen. The ghost overflow in person is awesome. My LFS Living Reef has all reef savvy display tanks. Prob close to 15 of them. They are all perfect. The quality control is what I like the most. I've have yet to see one that wasn't amazing! Link to comment
D Z
Looking good man. Don't forget about me when you do the tank transfer. Maybe I can stop by and check it all out once you get it all up and running. Looks like this is gonna be one hell of a build! Link to comment
Alex B
Looking good man. Don't forget about me when you do the tank transfer. Maybe I can stop by and check it all out once you get it all up and running. Looks like this is gonna be one hell of a build! Thanks man! It's coming along well. Will have some updated pics in a couple days. Scape is in the works. Tank is filled with rodi and salt is mixing up. Vertex zeovit reactor in the mail too. As soon as my tropic eden sand gets here it's on! Link to comment
Alex B
Got some work done last 2 days! Scape is pretty much dialed in and sand is in. Will have some fts later today but here is some pics when I was building it. Couple things were adjusted in tank but it's pretty much the same. Should look good covered in colored sticks! Used about 30 pounds of reef cleaner dry rock. Got some left over for the sump. Got me some of these http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/E9C1525C-693B-4173-A6C5-6C4D577A7A95_zpslg67lhjk.jpg.html'> And one of these http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/1EF8D86F-5833-4D99-B076-F64D295B0AEB_zps2udjorvd.jpg.html'> Then I made this to play with http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/777D0C23-B6AE-4BCB-A7F9-FD5C0923C80C_zpsdhjlk40l.jpg.html'> http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/29F81284-04F0-4406-8BDD-19E113BCF234_zpshan1jcbj.jpg.html'> And here is the scape http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/39FE4DB9-C57E-421D-AF53-46F820844391_zpsdl4izgcs.jpg.html'> http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/92C0FAC8-704F-43B0-9E29-96CBF0BBC4DA_zpsn8jmuvrf.jpg.html'> http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/F3633523-61F1-42F8-BF81-12DD81D04745_zpscokf8etq.jpg.html'> Looks really cool with sand. The sand makes the scape pop. Brings out a lot of cool little stuff. Link to comment
D Z
Looking good man. Its funny, I was just thinking I you hadn't updated this thread in a little while and was wondering how things were coming along. When are you gonna get it wet? Link to comment
Alex B
Thanks man! It's wet. Cycle will start as soon as my zeovit reactor gets here. Hoping to do the 14 day cycle, and be ready for reefaplalooza Link to comment
D Z
Awesome. Put up some pics of the tank with sand and water. Want to see what it looks like all put together. Link to comment
SouthFlorida_Tron
I'm so envious.... At some point in the next 5-10 years, my next build will be one of these... but my wife will never allow a tank of this size in our current condo... LOL Look forward to seeing amazing things out of this amazing tank. Link to comment

LOL Look forward to seeing amazing things out of this amazing tank. Thank you....Your tank is nothing short of amazing. It's my tanks little brother lol...I almost wish I would have gone bigger now. 100g artisan would have prob been perfect! I am very happy though with this tank and exited to get it going! Everyone needs a cloudy FTS! I rinsed the sand like 3 times and still got a cloud storm...oh well...in other news I wish Dave had like 10 clones so I could get my light....I'm dying to start my cycle but zeovit recommends having your light running. SouthFlorida_Tron
I know the feeling. I'll actually have another new thread up probably Sunday, for our Cad's little sibling. I got a Cad 4g Pico for my daughter that I will try to get wet on Sunday. So look for that! Link to comment
Alex B
Need your help guys. Water is cleared up a bit and I've been touching up the scape. I'm semi happy, but think I might adjust the right side a bit. I love the left side, but am not 100% sure about the right. I plan on adding a small shelf to give it a little more room and height for sps. What do you guys think? Water is still a little cloudy but lot better since this morning. I feel like it might be a little bulky for the minimalist style I'm going for http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/Camera%20Awesome%20Photos/preview_image_0_66202032x_zps4a98fd41.jpg.html] http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/Camera%20Awesome%20Photos/preview_image_0_212512x_zps5358feaf.jpg.html] So what do you guys say. Leave it alone and add a shelf or trim it up a bit. Thanks guys! Link to comment
Alex B
Ok so I messed with it a little more today. Me and scaping have a love hate relationship, but I think I like this. I took some rock out of the right side, and made a cool little shelf. So what do you guys say? Last night scape or this new one? Help me out!! http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/Camera%20Awesome%20Photos/preview_image_0_95960182x_zpsff33d83e.jpg.html] Link to comment
Alex B
So what do you guys think about the scape? Anyone have a little input? Got my last things on order. Now I just need a pretty little light from Dave! Can't wait to show you guys the cabinet. It looks awesome with all the led strips in it. http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/F06191E0-E8FF-43CF-B587-277AAFE374FF_zpskhldyspv.png.html'> http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/90094F33-2189-4933-BF7A-39ED6DB4813C_zpscqftz6ny.png.html'> Link to comment
Alex B
Let the cycle begin! Busting out the cannon and cleaning it up. All shots from now on will be with my good camera. Only problem is I don't have a good photographer. Finishing up the LEDs in the cabinet and wire management. Can't stand to even see 1 power cord! Link to comment
Bella's Reef
This is shaping up to be an amazing build! Link to comment
D Z
Yes it is. I cant wait to see it in person. Hurry up with that cycle already! Scape came out really nice! Link to comment
1.0reef
Love that scape! I prefer the last one due to the large kinda overhang on the right side Link to comment
Alex B
Ok. Got the sump and cabinet done today. Only thing left is the ato. My tunze will be here tom. Ignore the power cable on the right. It will be hidden tom! I'm happy with it. Everything is tidey and hidden. Working on flush mounting all the controllers outside. Didn't want any humidity issues. I need to find something to hide my 5g ato tank tom, and I'm done with the hard stuff! Then I play the waiting game. Cycle is officially going to be started tom. Hope the 14 day zeovit cycle goes smooth. Well on to the pictures! I can program about 50 different colors. It's cheesy but I like it...lol... http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/E9703B75-BBEA-4B91-ACB8-9CE56EDB76B2_zpsxpvywrkv.jpg.html] http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/912408D0-73F9-4695-988B-6D620DEB44D3_zpss3myhwml.jpg.html] http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/3336D80B-8B80-464D-B1D3-C357276837BD_zpstxwy6jzx.jpg.html] http://s158.photobucket.com/user/fast4imports/media/96979FC9-0348-4F08-AF4B-3709128206F2_zpsi1ygshzm.jpg.html] Link to comment
Arkayology
What can I make to lift it? Anyone ever made a pedestal out of acrylic. Will it just try to float? Thanks guys! Go to Home Depot and buy a sheet of light diffuser from the lighting section, as well as a bag of zip ties. It should cost you around $14. Cut the light diffuser to size and zip tie it together to make a little stand. It is cheap, sturdy, and is reef safe. Link to comment
SouthFlorida_Tron
Because of the design, it will have substantial bubbles until the bacteria creates the pressurized seal. Just be patient with it. Link to comment
Alex B
Soooo...I seeded this tank with 1.5 pounds of liverock. 2 days into the cycle and I came home to find pods everywhere!! That's always a good sign! Because of the design, it will have substantial bubbles until the bacteria creates the pressurized seal. Just be patient with it.Thanks man. I will wait it out and see what happens. Tuning is being a pain. My water level is in the higher range of cads specs. Going to raise it a bit and see what happens. Link to comment

Alex B
Its always fun seeing the life start to emerge. It's coming along very nice! Oh BTW living reef had some really nice stuff in from Miami when I was in there on Friday. Thanks for the heads up! I'll be checking in next week. Hopefully first fish this weekend! On another note. Seems like the skimmer is getting better. Still a ton of micro bubbles, but the foam is starting to get a little darker. Hopefully the skimmer breaks in soon. Going on about 5 days now. Now that it's up and running its time to think livestock! Anyone have any ideas? I really want some anthias. I was thinking 3 carberryi anthias or 2. Heard they usually do better in trios. After that maybe just 1 cool wrasse for critter control. My wife wants some designer clowns, but it would have to be something super cool. I really don't want clowns in this tank. What else do you guys think would look nice in there. I want to keep it stocked mostly with swimmers. I want to see my fish! Also I got my Nikon d5000 out. Now I remember why I put it away...I suuucckk Anyone got any pointers. The crappy pics I take on my 5s don't do the tank justice. Link to comment
