Sometimes the dumbest things makes us happy. I have this coralline growing on one of my pumps that is intense!!!

I tried to gt a pic but it's hard. It literally looks like those glo markers you can get in pink, yellow, and orange. It is so bright!!! I have never had a coralline like this in my tank. I've had purples, pinks, reds, even shades that almost look blue, but this stuff is crazy.

You can see the regular purple, pink, and even some deep red on the pumps. Then in the front you see the super bright stuff. I could only imagine a tank covered in this stuff!! I would never scrape it off.

Was at my lfs today. They asked me to take some pics for them. I have about 150 pictures, but I really liked these 3.

So I've been running a bit of rowaphos in a Baggie for a week. Dropped my phosphates down to .02 and everything is looking better by the day!! This tank seems to be very sensitive to small phosphate swings. I think it's because of the minimal liverock. I've started to add a lot of rubble to the sump. Pretty much going to fill up the sump with as much rock as I can. My fuge is also growing and looking good. I was considering bio pellets, but they work more for nitrates then phosphates. Guess I'll pick up a couple reactors for carbon and gfo.

I've also gone a couple weeks without doing water changes. I'm going to change to bi-weekly water changes and see how it goes.

Updates suck without pics, so here are some from the other day at my lfs.

I had a guy who bought most of my zoas tell me about rowaphos and how he uses it in a reactor and loves it. His tank is pretty crazy full of sps and has no PO4 problems. I think I'll get it when the gfo runs out. One thing he mentions was it didn't do as good in a baggie. Glad to see that it does.

Which lfs were those sps colonies from?

Any pics of your corals? :D How are they doing under the new light?

Lol...pics of my corals suck! They are just little frags :(

Everything is great though! The tank has kind of hit autopilot. Just feeding and maintenance. The light is awesome. It def helped with the lower pieces in the tank. I lost all the shadowing and they have colored up. Still working on a couple pieces, but for the most part everything looks much better.

Everything is also growing! Actually tested some paramters this week and was surprised. Nitrates and phosphates were almost undetectable. Guess the new skimmer has kicked in and it's doing some work! Almost all my algae is gone also so I'm stoked. Tank is just running super simple now. Heavy skimming, lots of food, bi-weekly water changes, and a little passive carbon. Back to my KISS method and couldn't be happier. In a month or 2 I'll start playing with my light and see if I can pull some more color out of some pieces.

Hey Alex, skimmed through the thread a few days ago again to try and find some info, but do you have any pics/thoughts on the glass top that comes with the tank? I only hear about it in the product description on their website. Looking to see if this is something I could use when I do my build (girlfriend has 2 cats and this build will start right before I move into her place). Thanks!!

The glass tops are 3 seperate pieces. They are delicate, a pain to take off and put on, and don't look that great. I train my fish when I get them. After 2 or 3 times of jumping out the tank, they get the point..lol...seriously though I hate tops, I pray/ hope and take my chances running without a top.

The glass tops are usable though. They will atleast provide something to stop the kittens getting inside. When it gets old or if u don't like em, you can diy something else for it.

I made a screen top and used the CAD clips to hold it in place.

Most of my lfs have great deals for Black Friday and this whole weekend. Trying to finish my fish stocking. Right now it's the following.

Tomini tang

Tamarin wrasse

Yellow coris wrasse

Pink margin fairy wrasse

Royal gramma

Sunburst anthia

And 1 lonely chromis

I want to add another 3-4 chromis and maybe 1 or 2 more fish. Anyone got any ideas? More wrasses?? I've been thinking hard and really don't have any ideas.

Hows your PC rainbow frag doing? The colony (at the LFS?) is nice.

My frag is doing pretty good. Encrusted almost the whole plug already. Still very green, but once it takes off should start getting some of the red and orange.
