Here's how it started off after getting it pretty much ready to go again, besides some extra cleaning. I could not out figure out how to get the build up off of the back wall, so excuse the mess.

Here's my light, decided to go w/ an Evergrow this time around. I wasn't satisfied w/ the AI Nano's color. I will say the Nano was dead quiet as the fan on this thing is LOUD!

I am just using my Canon Powershot so the pics aren't the best but...!

I still have some pics to go through, but picked up a birdsnest sps frag from the lfs 2 days ago.

Meeting up w/ a buddy for a frag or two later this week hopefully as well.

UPDATE!

I decided to get this thing back up and running!

I updated the first couple posts w/ current info!

I have been cycling cured rock for about 2 weeks and dropped it along w/ the 5 gallons of water into the main tank w/ dry rock.

Waiting to see if it goes through another cycle and will start adding life to the tank!

I had a IIIs as well but I sold it to get my custom one built. They are such cool tanks, looking forward to seeing you build it up.

Ahhh...

If I remember right, yours was the first tank I ever saw when I googled these tanks for build threads before I bought mine.

Water params are doing good and staying steady.

Decided to give it a go and added some zoas. After about 5-10mins they opened right up!

Any one know what these are?

Thats pretty cool! If you want to see the absolute best example of what the IIIs can be look at ninjamyst's, that thing is unbelievable.

Gotcha, thanks, I thought they were Eagle eyes after googling them but wasn't positive.

I have seen his tank, it's awesome, his tank is so colorful too. I envy his rocks though haha hopefully I can get a hold of a Vidarock when they actually start stocking them again!

Few updates. In the last month I've added a few things!

4 new frags, some extra snails, and an Urchin to help w/ a bad algae outbreak I got after going on a vacation.

Birdsnest

Birds of Paradise, a Pink/Green Pocilipora (sp?) and another frag I'm unsure of (the white/orange one)

I have had a problem w/ the silicone at the edges starting to pit or get eaten. So I'm pretty sure its the Urchin, so after shift I'm probably going to remove him and bring him back to the LFS since he did his job and took care of my algae outbreak. It should be under control w/ water changes now.

4 days ago I came home to my cleaner shrimp dead. RIP. I am pretty bummed since he was awesome and really outgoing. I'm assuming he was near the powerhead when it turned on...

Well, I got a Spotted Mandarin about 2 weeks ago, he had been in the LFS tank for awhile and was starting to thin out so I figured I'd try to help him out. Wrong idea I know, but he would always swim towards the front of the tank and follow me around so I felt obligated

Over the week he plumped up, and pods were still visible on the glass and in my back chamber where I have rubble and chaeto, but he started to thin again, he's in quarantine now and is accepting tigger pods but only live ones, the dead or floaters he spits back out. Hopefully he can graduate to frozen by the end of the week...

woah, how did i miss this build. love seeing PicO S III tanks, we are a dying breed =P.

mandarins are tough, hope you can train him to eat frozen.

Oh yeah!

Haha, I have followed your build for awhile now. Your tank is the reason that made me pull the trigger on mine!

What type of light stand is that?

It's a really sturdy but ugly DIY stand. My roommate just happened to have a sheet of plywood that was 20x20 and a friend of his was remodeling, so I just made the stand from leftover materials. It has (2) 2x4's at each corner.

I've been on the hunt for a nice stand for awhile now, haven't found anything I like yet but will be moving around March hopefully and will use the new stand after setting back up in my new place.

Thanks for the info... but I was actually asking about the tube style stand you are using to hang the light from. Is that a diy made with electrical conduit or does someone manufacture that stand?

Ahhh, sorry, misunderstood.

That is where I have to thank a buddy, who happens to run an electric company. I gave him the tank/stand dimensions and he bent it up for me. I went to Home Depot and picked up paint, some brackets, and some hardware.

The tank stand and light stand all together ran me $17.xx
