twintrades
I'm doing the 29 softy macro tank. Im thinking i might use a HOB fuge thats laying in my basement. And using that miracle mud in it. Will the Macro's benefit from it? Link to comment
Subsea
Unless the miracle mud has iron in it, the macro don't care. They do not need mud or substrate to grow. Macro uptake nutrients thru there surface area not there holdfast. I have a 12 year old mud & macro filter that is detritus after twelve years. it is an organic soup crawling with worms. It feeds clams and sea apples in the 75G Jaubert Plenum tank on top. Patrick Link to comment
Mstefa1
I've always liked my HOB fuge. I've used mud in it but don't stir it up or it will make its way into your tank. Larger pods really liked it. I doubt the macro will care about the mud - should house bacteria, not nitrates / phosphates. Link to comment
