What's going on fellow reefers ? So,after many years of being out of the game and mishap after mishap setting me back from setting up and tank,I've finally found time and energy to set one up. I've been collecting things over the past almost year for this build with much anticipation.

I wanted something sleek, sexy, small and low-iron and this is what I've came up with !!!

Tank:
-CadLights 7 gallon Low-Iron tank 16"x10"x10"

Lights:
-DIY led light consisting of Ch1: 6 Luxeon ES Royal Blue's & 2 430nm Hyper Violets Ch1: 2 25k Luxeon ES Neutral White,2 5k Luxeon ES Warm White,2 Luxeon ES Cyan,2 Luxeon ES True Cool Blue @ 700mA.
-Coralux Storm controller
-350w Mean Well PSU
-2x 700mA MeanWell LDD's

Filtration:
-Aquatic Life Nano Skimmer
-BWA Pelletized Carbon
-SeaChem Matrix
-SeaChem Phosgaurd
-SeaChem Matrix Carbon
-ChemiPure Elite

Rock:
- About 7-8lbs of Dry Rock

Additives:
Red Sea Foundations A,B,C
Zeovit Nano Power Package
Zeovit Zeobak

Equipment:
-API Basic Kit & Reef Kit ( for cycle )
-Red Sea Foundation
-SeaChem Basic
-JBJ ATO w/ Aqua Lifter
-Red Sea Coral Pro Salt

Are you planning for full zeo or just use those small blue bottles?

Great lighting btw.

IMO i would use less rock.

this is a nice nano tank.

If I use any zeovit,it will be only the power package. That's if I even use it. Are you thinking the rock sticks out too far ?

Hhah

Am I sensing sarcasm ? What's that about ?

Looks like this will be a sweet build.  I do agree on less rock though.  Going to a pita to keep your glass clean otherwise. Livestock plans?

20 gallon IM lps reef

17 gallon reefcrest nps

10 gallon IM softy reef

12 gallon pest/urchin

Thanks man. I took sweet ole time and planned this one out. Hmm,maybe I can flip the top rock around how the bottom one is. I have a bunch d other rocks I can work with.

As for stocking,I'd like to get some nicer Zoa's ( red hornets,Rastas, fruit loops ect ect ) and maybe a frag or two of some acans. But as you can tell by the scape,I had sps on mind once the tank was a few months old.

So,you're suggesting just use the top rock, nothing else ? Hmmmm,we'll see. I'm not in front of the tank until tomorrow. I'll see what I can accomplish

About to spend some time tinkering with the scape tonight. Also still trying to figure out if I want to so sand or a bare bottom with this tank.. Kind of leaning towards bare bottom lol.

What do you guys think ?!

Messing around with the scape a little bit,and I came up with 2. Here they are:

This is with the tank long ways for your viewing pleasure....

Now here's the tank "peninsula" style, which I prefer:

Still don't know if I'm 100% happy with either scape, anyone care to chime in,go ahead.

I like your original scape the best and the peninsula style second best. Just make sure, which ever one you go with, that you can get your hand or something in there to clean the glass.

Could you give me a ball park estimate on the total cost of putting together your RapidLED Triple Puck Light?  I am thinking of starting a similar size tank and have been looking at putting LEDs over it.  Tank looks promising.

I actually bought the light used, but I know they are $200 on their website. If I was to do another light,I'd get their aurora kit. I'm guessing it's supposed to be like the Radion from Ecotech, but 3 times cheaper.

Does anyone know what the general experation date is on additives and 2 parts ? Im pretty certain my 2 part I had in storage is too old to use,but I have a bottle of BWA Magnesium thats maybe a year and a half ( MAYBE ) old. I cannot find a date on either of the bottles... Im thinking about just trashing all of them.

That tonga branch looks a little funny the way it is, sort of sticks out too much.

Love the 1st scape though, epic for a 7 gallon! I would never have been that creative. I'd probably just put one rock in the middle and put some zoas. LOL.

Short of calling them, I would just ditch it. Take that rock and smash it up IMO. It will give you more building blocks, and a better scape for coral placement IMO. Nice tank though, likin it!

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to stick with the first scape and scratch my other ideas.

I'm just going to toss everything. I already have Red Sea ABC if I use them at all.

Here's a little update... Due to some unfortunate and sudden things I've had to spend some time in the hospital and miss the next week out of work so that'll set me back from getting my test kits ordered and this thing getting wet and cycled longer than I wanted to.. Yay.

Hopefully this will give me more time to work out a scape that'll work and get everything in order.

At the moment,I'm fine just in some severe pain. Thanks for asking !!!

I'm really hoping so. It won't be anything remotely close to what you've got up your sleeve but it'll be pretty nice lol.

For what it's worth and whomever is following,I think I finally came up with my finally scape that I'm going to stick with. It's got a lot of nice good spots for Zoa's,Acan's and Birdsnests and Monti's !! It also leaves a lot of good open room in the front and the sand bed. Let me know what you think !!!

Very nice scape. This last one gives you many more options for coral placement. Hope you are feeling better!
