Javious Posted January 24, 2014 Share Posted January 24, 2014 I have a PLS-50 on my BioCube29 HQI. But it isn't a plug and play fit. It fits in chamber 1 but very tight, if you use the inTank media basket and water deflector they both won't fit without modification. I have it in chamber 2 using a gravity mount, aka resting on the rim. For it to work in chamber 2 you need an ATO to keep the water level stable. I can't comment on BioCubes with the tops. This is a temporary set up for me, I am replacing the BC with a 20L and sump. The PLS-50 was purchased for that system but I wanted to test it out/break it in first. I am pleased with its operation. The skim was darker in person, the flash washed it out. Link to comment

larcat Posted February 20, 2014 Share Posted February 20, 2014 It fits in the overflow chambers and in the return chamber. Return chamber doesnt work because of level fluctuations. This skimmer is greeat but even minor water level changes make it overflow or stop skimming. Ill post some pics this evening. Awesome! Good to hear, where do you have it placed? CAD-Aqua Posted March 3, 2014 Author Share Posted March 3, 2014 I haven't heard any confirmations yet for Solana owners, but I believe it should fit as the Solana has a larger filter chamber width than many other AIO's. with the rear tank mount it is 3.25". the mount can be removed to save an extra .25" at 3" overall width. if there is that amount of space, then the PLS-50 will fit into the rear chambers for sure.
