I threw out forty lbs of premium fiji rock when I took down my RSM four years ago. I would kill for that rock right now.

I'm pretty sure if you dont get beat up you could get stuff even cheaper just so you stop making them feel weird lol

I just now yelled at one of my snails for making me put my hand in the tank to turn it around

I only regularly test things other than salinity when I see something's going wrong. I find that when I'm just doing my routine, keeping everything stable my tanks do a lot better than when I'm freaking out over my Calcium always being 20 ppm too low. Shoot me!

Whenever my fire shrimp steals from my anemones, I think about boiling up a pot of water. I have cussed horrible, obscene, vile things at him.

After my second wetside mp10 assembly was destroyed by the exact same trochus snail I promptly removed him from the tank and threw him into the woods. Most expensive snail ever.

I find a sick disturbing pleasure in removing pest animals from the display(extremely large emerald and gorilla crabs, predatory pistol shrimps etc.) and letting them dry out in the sun....especially if they killed anything expensive.

oh, let's see….

 

i definitely don't QT anything. i've lost a few fish but always weeks or months after they were introduced, so QTing wouldn't have helped. i don't dip anything either. knock on wood i suppose but nothing terrible has ever come of it.

 

on a lighter note, back when i had my joubini octo (RIP elvis) i used to sit up at night and talk to him. he had to be fed every night so before i gave him his food i'd play with him and ask him deep metaphysical questions. hey, they're supposed to be really smart. who knows. maybe he had all the answers.

Or even realigned it, cuz it kinda seems like the snail may have just bumped/ or pulled it down out of alignment lol

I had to do it before because it was making the same noise when I first got it. Now this snail incident has caused it to reoccur. I'm planning on doing that probably tomorrow.

Its aligned perfectly. I'm not really sure what makes the thumping noise, whether it is a chip on the impeller or something inside the assembly. Either way I'm taking it apart.
