josh_scci
I picked this little guy up from the LFS he shell looked a little bleached but for the price I couldn't pass him up. But it's my first clam and I'm not sure what to look for. Link to comment
josh_scci
It was sold as a maxima, is that correct? Link to comment
GHill762
Nice looking clam. And yes it looks like a maxima. If you Google how to ID tridacna clams you'll see some pointers for identification. Pretty easy once you know the differences in mantle and shell appearance. Link to comment
metrokat
Shell is always white unless it has algae on it. New growth will always show white Link to comment
josh_scci
Good to know. I was afraid it was bleached out. This LFS has 8 ai sols running 15 hours a day over a 6'x2'x2' tank. If coral lasts more than a week it bleaches and dies. Link to comment
