yman182
Hi all, So I got this Deresa clam about a month or two ago and it has been growing like crazy. This is a good thing. The problem is that the mantle is now touching the glass and the clam has attached to the bottom of the tank. Is this something I should worry about or will it move when the shell starts touching the glass. Picture below. Link to comment
GHill762
it's not hurting anything by touching the glass, but if you want to move it you can gently slide a razor blade under its foot along the glass (make sure you are against the glass, don't slice its foot in half) like you're scraping paint.. that's how I removed my crocea from my old tank, it was attached to the glass as well.. I'd recommend putting something under the sand for it to attach to so you can easily move it if you need to without having this problem.. Link to comment
Kirky
I've had my derasa clams for about 1week now and hasn't attached but I've read that derasa clams don't attack there foot as they use there size/weight to hold them in place. Is this true Link to comment
