So I went ahead and ordered a Jebao RW-4 today and it should be here by Wednesday, I know it's not as aesthetically pleasing but I have read a lot of good things about it and with it being $180 less than the MP10 so it ended up being a pretty easy choice for me.

New page, new fish, new coral.... time for some new pics. So named the clowns Big Bertha and Roo, they are really cool to watch swim in and out of the nem. Got quite a few pics of Roo as he proved to be quite photogenic, but did not get nearly as many good ones of Big Bertha but oh well.

So took advantage of the flash sale at Salt Critters because I also had some credit there so I went ahead and ordered 10 new pieces. I got 3 acans, 3 rics, 3 zoas, and 1 stylo that I am gonna test out and see if I can start getting a couple SPS pieces in the tank. I am having them shipped out on Wednesday so they arrive Thursday because I'm off from work that day. Also have the Jebao RW-4 coming Wednesday too. Ill probably hold off purchasing much more for the tank after this and let stuff grow a bit, but who knows this stuff is just so damn addicting haha.

I am also gonna work on mounting the acans, blasto, and duncan I have so they are actually on the rocks so I can free up my sand bed a bit. I really wanna get a plate coral and am running into "cube" issues of not having a ton of real estate down there, so any input of good places to mount these corals would be much appreciated. And then here are the pics from Salt Critters of what I just ordered.

Thanks, I really liked the colors on them and they are a bit different than the colors I have in my tank so far. I still wanna get a frogspawn and a plate coral, they look so awesome in your tank.

an orange plate would look great on your sandbed. they are the brightest thing in my tank right now.

Ya an orange one would be awesome, just gotta make room for it and get the scans and Duncan mounted. That will be my project this week

So got the rw-4 wavemaker in the tank today and from my initial reaction is that it seems to be a very good unit especially for the price. It is definitely nice being able to have some more mode options as well as being able to adjust the flow. I am just starting off in W1 mode on the lowest flow setting and it definitely is an increase compared to the koralia 425 that I had in there. If anyone has any setting tips for the rw-4 in a 18"x18" cube I would love to hear them.

In other tank news yesterday my temps skyrocketed reaching about 84 degrees and the nem was all closed up so I unplugged the heater and got the tank to much more suitable temperature and today the nem is looking great and is fully extended which I am very happy to see. I will also be receiving my order from Salt Critters tomorrow so I am looking forward to that, I also added on 3 more zoa frags to my order bringing the total to 13 new frags that will be going into the tank. So because I am a picture junky I will be posting some new pics once everything opens up and a new FTS to show where I have the rw-4 set up.

It was jager, but the heater wasn't the issue. The room with the tank in it ended up getting the heat cranked in it which rose the tanks temp quite a bit. Definitely gonna make sure that doesn't happen again.

So I noticed these little things sticking out from a zoa frag today and was hoping I could get some ID help, I'm a bit worried that they are hydroid and if so I will probably just pull the plug out of the tank because I don't want them spreading at all.

So I decided to hold off on delivery of my original Salt Critters order, which I ended up adding about 4 pieces to, in order to wait for the sale tonight. After pillaging the sale I have a total of 28 frags that are supposed to arrive on 2/5. It will definitely be a bit of a cluster in the tank for a bit between having stuff on a frag rack and mounting everything. I think it's safe to say that after this I can probably leave the tank alone for quite a while and just let everything grow. The only other plans that I have for the tank will most likely be the addition of a yellow clown goby or possibly a green one, and also I was thinking of also adding a green banded goby and then officially call the tank fully stocked. Well I guess I still do want to find a more affordable orange or similar plate coral as I finished mounting everything on the rocks today which freed up a good amount of real estate on the sand bed.

The tank is doing great though since the heat issue and everything is open and happy. I did my second WC for the week. I have been working on staying consistent of doing two 2.5 gallon WC's a week with one being on Tuesday and the other on Friday and I have already been seeing good results in the tank. I can't wait for this next order to get here and of course there will be a picture dump as I love taking pics of the tank and putting them up here. I also did toss the zoa frag that is pictured above with what I assumed were some hydroids because I was too worried about them spreading through the tank and haven't seen any others pop up yet.

More for me to see how things change, here is a current FTS now that everything has been mounted onto the rocks.

that saltcritter sale was pretty crazy. i had like 10 zoa and acan frags in my cart but didnt check out....no room to put them =(. but such good prices.

great FTS.

Ya it was pretty crazy, I added a bunch of stuff to my cart and went to check out and about half of it was already sold. I think its time for you to add a 3rd tank or upgrade to something bigger haha

that spotted clown looks so awesome! love the pico

Thanks! I really thought the spots on him were pretty neat and a bit unique. And the clowns are so cool to watch swim in their nem

Honestly I didn't do anything special, I picked up the clowns and the nem on the same day and got everything in the tank that night and when I woke up the next day they were already sleeping in it and swimming through it. I think I just got super lucky haha. For a while I wanted to stay away from clowns just because I was trying to go against the trend but I am really glad I decided to get some because they are really fun to watch and have good personality

So I got my order from Salt Critters today, and wow, 29 of those little bags are a lot! I just finished taking everything out of the bags and dipping everything. Quite a bit of work. I have about 16 of the corals mounted so far and will keep some of the others on a frag rack while the SPS get acclimated to the light and then some zoas and acans that I just didn't feel like mounting right away. The only bummer is while I was removing the frogwpawn from the plug it broke in half. So I mounted the slightly larger piece and it is beginning to extend and the other part I'm going to keep it on the frag rack for a bit. So now I have a nice little euph rock with 3 hammers, 2 torches, and the frogspawn. I added 5 new rics to the middle rock and I plan to add a couple more zoa frags to it as well. Hopefully I'll have some pictures soon.

So new FTS after I got everything in the tank and mounted. Everything is pretty close to all opened up, the pieces I was most, I guess you could say... worried, the SPS are looking great, polyps are extended and looking happy. I know have a total of 5 SPS pieces in the tank now and I believe that just the two 2.5 gallon WC's a week should suffice for any trace elements they could eat up. I will look into 2 part dosing after they get larger. I will post more close up photos when I get a chance and the water clears up more after having my hands in it for so long. Here is the new FTS though, definitely filled up the tank quite a bit and now its grow out time, unless I can get a plate coral I really want.

The turbos... I ordered a few from Live Aquaria and they were all monsters. It's one reason I took any coral off the sand bed because they kept knocking them over. They sure clean though
