skyscraper2290
So after a long wait I finally got my PicO III this past week and finally got it wet with some salty goodness today along with putting in the rocks and sand. I chose to call the tank Atraxia, which is a synonym for tranquility. The tank is 18" X 18" X 16". I used 5 pounds of Real Reef Live Rock along with about pounds of dry rock. My sand choice was the Carib Sea Fiji Pink live sand, but I went ahead and did a peroxide dip with it because I had been reading about issues with algae with this sand, so now I am treating it as dry sand and will be using some sand from a friends established aquarium to seed the sand. I had been cycling the rocks for about 6 weeks now. My light from nanoboxreef will probably be here by the end of this week, not too worried about it as I just set the tank up tonight. I will be ordering a CAD Lights nano protein skimmer and still have to hook up my ATO, need to find a good reservoir still. With all this being said feel free to ask any questions or give suggestions. I am excited to officially be part of the saltwater community. And now for the only thing anyone actually cares about here a few pics.Sorry they are all just iphone pictures, maybe after the water clears I will get out my dSLR, but will probably wait until the lights are over the tank.FTS 8-18FTS 1-25-2015FTS 1-30-15FTS 2-9-152-27 3-21-15 4-13-2015 Equipment PicO III Tank (18"x18"x16") Nanobox Duo (temporary coral compulsion Par38 bulb) Jebao RW-4 PicO Skim 2.0 with whisper 20 air pump Tunze nano ATO Refugium 1W LED Digital Thermometer Tank Approximately 15 lbs of now live rock (started dry) 20 lbs of of Carribsea Fiji Pink sand (peroxide dipped) Fish Male and Female occelaris Scarlet cleaner shrimp Coral SPS Desert Cactus Random red monti cap Stylo Red/purple Acro LPS Hammer green w/ purple tips Green tip Hammer Pink/Gold tip hammer Torch x 2 Red/cyan blasto Red/green acan Red/blue acan x 2 Pink/purple acan Chalice Duncan now at 4 heads Mushrooms/Rics Blue Ric x 2 Green Ric x 2 Orange Ric x 4 Purple Hitchhiker Musroom Zoas 29 different zoa frags Pink People eaters Gorilla Nipples Fire and Ice Lite Brite Mostly unknown names though Anemone Rose Bubble Tip Link to comment
skyscraper2290
Now that the water has cleared up some more I figured I would throw up a few more pictures. I also tested my water today and ammonia was between .2 and .4 with nitrites and nitrates at 0. http://s948.photobucket.com/user/skyscraper22900/media/frontview_zpsf2d2bebe.jpg.html'> http://s948.photobucket.com/user/skyscraper22900/media/sideview_zpsb40288ac.jpg.html'> http://s948.photobucket.com/user/skyscraper22900/media/sideview2_zps0048f455.jpg.html'> http://s948.photobucket.com/user/skyscraper22900/media/PicO_zps853b6d25.jpg.html'> Link to comment

Chew_Magna
I've heard many times of court jesters starving in smaller tanks because their preferred food isn't in enough supply (film algae). I had a chance to pick up a couple when I was in my 40b but even then I was hesitant and decided to pass. I like the red spotted gobies, I don't think I've seen those in anyone's tank before. Good to know on the court jester, thanks, I will stay away from them than. Ya the red spotted gobies seem neat, and stay nice and small so I would suspect don't have much for a bioload. I just leak tested mine a few days ago and I am hoping to start trying to cycle it on Monday (since it is an office tank)... Looks like you will have about a week's head start on me Link to comment
