I'd drill out those holes as well, you're going to get some pretty crappy flow through it. Where'd you get the overflow boxes? They look pretty shoddy too with the teeth being bent like that. Looks like you know what you're going for, can't wait to see some pics of it running.

hi Chew_Magna The overflow box was custom made by my friend. He have a laser cutter and he work in a advertisement company.

purigen is good I have used chemi pure elite for many years and wouldn't use anything else at this point

let see the refugium work to cut down the nitrate and phosphate or not. if not.... well have to mod a purigen reactor out of a co2 reactor.

Never seen a AIO with and overflow box. I have used that live sand, never again, it is very dirty and packed full of PO4 and garbage that will die off in the tank. I now use the dry version and still need to rinse it 20 times in RO water.

I kinda agree with that. I used that sand in my 40b and had constant hair algae in it the entire time. Never had it, or ANY pest algae before using that sand.

Thank's for the tip ;) . Since i bought it and there no 30 days money back in Malaysia. So i have to use it. Hopefully luck is by my side :haha:fingerscrossed .

This AIO did not come with a Overflow Box is custom DIY by my friend.

The temperature on day time would be 28c top. Well as a beginner i think i just get some simple and easy softies coral.

I really like this idea! I have had a few AIO that have bad surface skimming qualities, this removes that. The clear box on the side, is that going to be a refugium? Did you pipe return pump into th box and just let it overflow back into the tank?

I've been hunting around for an overflow box, but by the end of the day, I just blocked my outflow pipe with a piece of clip-on mesh to prevent my fish from getting sucked in.

Btw, nice build you have going there. Don't forget to get some live rock/dry rock, and you're ready to start cycling your tank. What sort of fish are you planning to put in? :)

If I really wanted to use that sand again in a tank I'd give it a really really good peroxide bath and then treat is as dry sand.

Hi there a small pump from the last compartment that pump the water in to the refugium then overflow back to the tank. This will not kill the pod and crush any micro algae that will feed my coral and fish. :P The refugium is mod from a Hang-on Breeding box by MARINA, a medium size give me extra 0.2 gallon of water. :D

well i got no idea what live stock "fish" to put in yet but for the coral "YES" . that will be some mushroom , Leather coral , poly .

Will get some cure live rock from Oceanic Treasure. Basic is dead rock been seeded quit some time. so i think is safe from the bad pest.

Oh ...... that would waste the money that i buy this live sand. so i have to keep my finger cross and hope nothing bad happen. Thank's for the advice. ;)

Not ugly exactly, but you'll have a hell of a time keeping the side glass clean.

That's the same ATO concept I use. Mine's 2.5 gallons though.

i would like to have that too 2.5 gallon container, but left and right there no support so i scrap the idea of getting a bigger container.

until i am bored adding in new water to the 2lit container then i will think of a way. lol :D

Yup going have a hard time cleaning the side glass, i buy too much live rock 4.5 Kg and i don't want to waste the rock so... all in.

I hear that. I've been manually topping off every day for a long time. I have my 2.5 gallon jug sitting here, just waiting for me to make room to actually install it. I used a similar system back on my 15 gallon tank.

Even if you're filling the small ATO every day it's still better on the system to have the steady drip instead of the huge splash of RO all at once.

agree with you about the drip process. no sudden shock for the system.

Well the process now is wait for a month and start stocking some coral.

BTW i would like to ask anyone in this forum use coral dip before? Or any similar product? Is it necessary?
