reefernanoman
I have been a member since 2005 and this is my latest tank, which is a Nanocube 28g. Recent upgrades: Rapid LED retro with 20 LED"s XTE for RB and XTE(replaced by my Kessil A160we), MP10, and Tunze 3152 ATO.I only have a mated pair of Maroons clowns that have been with me since 2006 and in two different states. Corals: blue haze monti, frogspawn, candy canes and a small frag of green zoas. This tank has been going since June 2012, where I had a partial crash that killed all my SPS except for the zoas and LPS, from where I have been recovering slowly. Once a week religious water changes(31/2gallons). reefernanoman
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my tuxedo sea urchin that keeps the hair algea in check. Awesome invertebrate. Link to comment
reefernanoman
I had to lower my LED'S drivers to 50% because I noticed that some of my corals were bleaching. I guess LED'S are more intensive than they appear. I also noticed that my coraline algea is not growing but I think it's because of the sea urchin or maybeiI need to add some purple up like I have done in the past. Link to comment
nlopez99
When did you upgrade your LEDs? Have you seen any difference in the coral growth/health? I'm thinking about upgrading my intermediate LEDs. Link to comment
reefernanoman
When did you upgrade your LEDs? Have you seen any difference in the coral growth/health? I'm thinking about upgrading my intermediate LEDs. I installed it August 10th 2013, so it's been about two months. At the beginning my Frogspawn doubled in size, but recently I shrank a little and has bleached somewhat. Also my sunset Monti started bleaching a little, so I turned the intesity to half yesterday. My candy canes have loved this light. I think that it's too early to tell. Link to comment
reefernanoman
So I bought myself a REAL camera, in the way of a Canon SL1. I shot these with a tripod and manual settings to control the ISO and aperture, etc. I love this little camera! So here is my tank on Jan 09 2014. FTS: Link to comment

reefernanoman
I decided to remove the pulsing Xenia with disastrous results! It annihilated my Birdsnest and Purple Haze! Bummer. Xenias are toxic! Link to comment

reefernanoman
Update 11/4/2014: I added an Apex Jr with the VDM module in order to control my meanwell drivers for my LED's, my cooling fan, and return pumps. It has been working great! I didn't do such a good job with the wiring, but I made sure that I had drip loops! I also used the center removable shelf of my NC stand as an installation board for my Apex and just screwed everything horizontally. Link to comment
reefernanoman
A little video update. My Maroon clown pair are always laying eggs(like 20+ times already) but they always eat them for some reason. Link to comment

Weasel Baron
sorry to hear about the xenia attack, great looking tank otherwise FWIW I'd save your money on purple up and just use lime-water for your top-off. Link to comment

specore
Looks lovely. Photos are looking good as well. We have a DSLR which I have never had the patience to learn to use, however just from looking around at everyone's great photos I am getting the itch to play with it. Link to comment

We have a DSLR which I have never had the patience to learn to use, however just from looking around at everyone's great photos I am getting the itch to play with it. Thanks. I have learned how to use mine through youtube. A tripod is also necessary, so that the picture looks the best. One example would be to set your ISO at 100(almost impossible to do while in the hand), shut off image stabilization(when on the tripod), etc. Link to comment

reefernanoman
Tank's looking great! And congrats on the Apex Jr! Thanks teeny! After two mini crashes, my tank is finally starting to look better. I must admit that the low iron glass on my fusion 10g is much better than my 28G Nanocube. Link to comment
