sketchy
I am learning electronics. My goal is to on/off control (timer based) a CREE CXA2520 using an Arduino. I am hoping someone will help me with the wiring. I wish to hook up the Arduino to the LED, LDD Driver and Power supply through a breadboard. I could not find a wiring diagram with this configuration. How does the wiring work between the pins of the Arduino, LED, LDD and power supply? Thank you for any help. Link to comment
MeepNand
You can't use a breadboard; you need to solder. A breadboard can't handle the current. Wire the power supply AC parts to a plug. Then wire the VOUT on the power supply to the LDD drivers' VIN+. Then wire the COM on the power supply to the VIN- of the drivers. Wire the VOUT+ on each LDD to the + of the led string it goes to. I have a diagram on my computer. Please wait. Link to comment
MeepNand
Attached is a pic of how it should be wired. You also wire the PWM pins to a PWM signal. Link to comment
sketchy
THANK YOU very much. This is exactly what I needed. Link to comment
evilc66
Do not forget to tie the LDD ground to the ground for the Arduino, or dimming won't work. The driver and the Arduino are typically on different power supplies (you shouldn't run the Arduino on anything more than 12v), so the grounds have to be connected to create a common ground reference. cocojakes
If I were doing something similar, but had my controller a decent distance from my drivers, could I use a common ground wire coming back from my drivers to my controller? For example if I have 4 drivers, so 4 PWM signals, send 4 hots, and 1 ground, from the controller to the LDD board? Or does each PWM pair on the controller need to be kept together? Link to comment
