I just recently participated in a rare reef sale on facebook which I gained some nice acans at very low prices. I will post the images from the sale and then add images and a review for when I recieve them via the mail.

Aside from their general attitude of not giving a #### about their customers or the coral after the sale, they are rude and leave their area a complete mess.

Since then I've had several great transactions so yes change of tune. They've made it up to me with a ton of free stuff. Most notably a pair of onyx picassos, a ten pack of named zoas, sunset monti, an acan and a ten pack if rics for $200 plus shipping. If you deal with Andrew you get better service though Russ can be a little rough around the edges occasionally.

 

Edit: rereading my previous review there's no real change of tune, I did say I liked them besides all their little problems sooo?

My shipment came in perfectly fine. I had a free star polyp frag from the live sale won but instead they sent me a one polyp zoa which I much rather have.

I can see from your post that your dispute was because of miss communication and a hold up at fedex. At least they sent a new clam with free shipping instead of telling you to buy again to get a new clam.

 

@ Clayalaleona - Nice review on his post. It was truthful and dead on with what happens at most vendors.

 

Payment was paid check out like with any company. I would have preferred paypal but it was the only thing available. I also took pictures of everything. I will upload the images, I am just waiting till the corals adjust well and make sure no problems are occurring. So far so good. So my review of them is:

 

 

Packaging: B (Could have put something in there to make it tighter)

Livestock: A (Great choices)

Pricing: A (Great sell prices, unbeatable IMO, way marked down)

Response: A (Was a little slow but I can understand: he had 100+ orders to fulfill, so shipping was behind)

 

Overall: A (Still needed some improvements but an "A" effort for this transaction)

 

 

Lol. Is there a checkbox on facebook or google checkout for only dealing with Andrew? Should I even have to choose?

 

 

Whose Andrew? I think a guy named Russell did the transactions. He also added me on Fb, which was cool because I get to see the face behind the internet vendor. With me being in another state, I don't get the privilege of face to face.

Andrew and Russ are partners. Russ usually runs sales, send you offers, etc. Andrew runs the business aspect of it most of the time (paperwork and stuff like that) but he's a bit better at customer service, much more cool headed. Russ can sometimes get a little uhmm, a head of himself. Russ gives you MADDDD deals though, tell the guy you want something but you're on a budget and he'll get you magic on a dime.

Also, If you judge a company by a single transaction then I wouldn't ever use Coral Collection ever again. They left me hanging without a confirmation for a week but didn't mind taking my money. After 7ish days I contacted them and they said they would ship next day, they didn't and when they finally did instead of shipping overnight(as one would assume you get for $60) they shipped two day and of all things they were anemones. My second transaction was spotless though, companies learrnnnn

Rare Reef has amazing stuff but has HORRIBLE customer service. After 2 of their sales, i didnt get anything because of their card processor. I then had confidence to give Russ my credit card info to process a $500 order manually. 2 days later after texting him and emailing him, his answer was "i had to much sh*t going on to process your order. totally sucks
