Or if you really want to be masochistic, try 0201. I've done those by hand before. They are not fun. Or sub 0.5mm pitch IC's.

Couldn't even imagine. 0402 are small enough! I just hot plate small stuff.

And .5mm is bad enough lol.

Ben

Just practice your soldering skills using 402 sized components. After you get good at doing those, any LED will appear absolutely huge in comparison. Lol

Nah, if I ever need any of that I'll just pay you to do it :D

Also that fixture doesn't resemble a fixture anymore when you tear it down that much.

Nope. And they're made with SUPER thin metal now. I just about poked a hole straight through the house just trying to get the damned wire grommet out.

Can you give me a link to that heatsink? What length did you use for the 36" unit, and what length would you suggest for the 48?

The heatsink is from Dave, he is the only one that I've seen with this profile.

Sanded down the sunpower and put on what is hopefully the last coat of white on the housing. After that, everything will get a couple of coats of matte clear, and then I can finish assembly :)

Was finally able to get my customizations done to the Nanobox arrays. This is how tiny the Luxeon C LEDs are (there are six in there).

Ben,have you had a chance to mess with the Marine Blues yet for rapid ? I got 4 and have those on a channel with some 400-410 and a few 410-420 and a 430 and its a good mix. I can defintely say thay Steves royals arent as blue as my old ones and are more green then the ones i had from Rapid... Have they switched bins as of late or what ?

But now, of course, it's just going to be sold since my tank leaked and the new one is only 22" wide lol.

So if anyone wants a 36" Sunpower with two T5 and four Nanobox 5-channel arrays with Mint instead of Lime, let me know.

Yes, Steve's a few years ago switched from 440-445nm bins to 450-455nm bins, and their standard blues are very nearly cyan, in the 475-480nm bin. Blech.

How much are you asking for it?

I don't know yet. I have not yet added up the cost of the materials lol. That's my least favorite part of doing builds, it always hurts :D

Yeah, materials total cost is around $800. OUCH

For sale? again? really? Who didn't see that coming? ;)

Well, in my defense, the tank it was going over is gone now, so I didn't have much choice ;)

So what what happens when you add mints instead of limes? I'm interested.

Not too much, but they have more blue than lime, which are almost completely phosphor converted.

Well you could've bought the bigger acquasole to fit the light :D

Yeah, but that price tag hurts WAY more as you get bigger lol
