Akma's Elos 70 Upgrade~

Few weeks ago I saw johnnyJ was selling his tank setup and after thinking it over I decided to upgrade so my fish would have more swimming room.

Thanks to my friend Ernie, he made this move easy for me by driving to pick up the tank and helping me setup.

Specs:

Tank: Elos 70 tank, stand, sump.

Lights: Ecotech Radion Gen 2

Return: Eheim 1250

Powerhead: I have 2 mp10wes on my tank right now. I have a 3rd one and i'm debating on ataching it or selling it. Will see depending on tank.

Skimmer: BM 8 skimmer

Dosing system: BM doser

I plan on going mostly sps with this build. I do have some hair algae i'm trying to fight at the moment and hopefully will be able to eradicate it in this tank soon. Will be pouring peroxide straight on the algae in hopes of killing it.

Livestock:

- Pair of ora picasso / c-quest onyx clownfish

- Pair of wyoming whites temporarily.

- Tailspot blenny

- Jewel Leopard Wrasse

- Pair of Cardinals

- Baby Chevron Tang

- Exquisite fairy wrasse

- Pair of cleaner shrimp

- My electric blue hermit i've had since my first tank setup in 2007. This guy refuses to die no matter how much he's been through.

Corals:

- Few acros I picked up from max reef's aussie shipment along with a few others that i've had since they were 1/2-1"

- Lost Everyone of my chalices a few months ago except for the second chalice I ever purchased due to what I believe is bacteria from a bad order.

- A little bit of lps here and there.

Here's a FTS I just took to start documenting.

Got ick and lost almost all of my fish. The one time I was in a rush and didn't copper and quarantine. Oh wells, lesson learned.

I have 2 fish left that I coppered and treated. Will be much mroe careful in the future:

On a more positive note just picked this up thanks to breakin news.
Huge momma 3+"

Took the picture with my camera phone and a reebrite strip.
The pop is unbelievable. Brightest coral in my tank!

New Update:

New Equipment:

- Sold my bubble magus for a 4 pump prolifux thanks to breaken.

- Upgraded to a neptune apex. Awesome controller

- Sold my radions and went back to T5s.

- Added biopellets and gfo to help bring algae under control.

Bout 2 months ago I got hit with ick which killed 12 of my fishes. Pretty lethal case and I couldn't get out my wrasses so my nitrates and ammonia rocketed.

Right now tank has stabilized and everything is starting to do much better. SPS are coloring up nicely and growing:

Here's a FTS:

Still a bit messy. In process of clearing stuff out on sandbed. Maybe throw them all into my elos mini.

Been buying lots of sps lately:

Picked up a few sweet pieces from dnov and I have another sick pack coming in about another week:

Want to add a few nice pieces of live rock in to mount sps.

Here's my sick JB I picked up from breakin.

You scored a jackpot with that Jawbreaker. I've seen quite a few and not many have that much green on it! Incredible!

That dat dat jawbreaker just broke my jaws......

lol.

holy crap that mush is bright!

Yes he's the brightest guy in my tank.

Nothing really to update. Was battling hair algae after I lost all my fish. Was running biopellets, but had an alk swing while running biopellets which hurt 1/2 my acros. Sucks because they grew so fast and were coloring up nicely.

The jawbreakers are doing fine though right?

You know what you should do? You should sell all your other corals and let the jawbreakers take over your tank. Then frag some and sell each piece $150, you'll be making bank off this hobby lmao!!
