Lalani
Cool spiders lani. My GF wants to get some but I won't allow that as the tank situation is getting a little nuts now a days. Do you handle them often? I'd be to much a nancy to touch a spider w fangs like that. Also what's the life expectancy of the bird eater? I only have the one and I haven't tried handling it yet, but maybe soon! And here's a video just for you jmb: http://s695.photobucket.com/user/Lalani7/media/GBB/Tonifeeding_zps729d9185.mp4.html Link to comment

Herptile
They're actually pretty nice pets, Ben. Low maintenance, IMO. Though perhaps not the best to cuddle up to. Thread endorsement. Link to comment
Lalani
So she came out for food today so I was able to snap some shots without any plastic in the way. omnomnom Link to comment

Lalani
Ok, I just had to share this. These are the people I bought Toni from, ArachnidsRVA. The guy, Aaron, is funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfgOI27FvTo Link to comment

Lalani
Ooh, thanks Tibbsy! I know what I'll be looking at while I'm being lazy today. Toni molted again on the 3rd, she's around 4 times the size she was when I got her at the end of January! I know a lot of people say they never ever see their T's drinking, but Toni drinks every time I spray her cup. I need to put a small bottle cap or something as a water bowl in there today. She's big enough now that I don't have to worry about her drowning. And now I know why they use the word 'teleport' when referring to how fast these guys are. Little Toni in January: Toni today, same piece of cork on the right: Link to comment
Lalani
Upgrade! She made a nice little hammock for herself in the back right corner overnight. Link to comment
Herptile
Looking food. I just lost my male A. versicolor. Guess it was his time. I'd like to have a Paraphysa scrofa again but I can't find one anymore. Maybe a Honduran curly hair or a Chaco golden knee instead. Link to comment
Lalani
Whoops, didn't see your post. Sorry about the A. versicolor. After those last pics, Toni went into pre-molt mode for 1 1/2 weeks, molted, and then stayed hidden back in the corner for another 1 1/2 weeks. Today was the first time she's been out and about, and she has been exploring and webbing up the place. I slowly stuck my finger next to her but she bolted into her bark cave (which she has taken a great liking to). She's got lovely new blue legs. Funky spidey walk! Different lighting angle really brings out the blue! Link to comment
ward827
Some amazing pics! I've had 3 tarantula's. A Texas Brown that my daughter and I caught. A Chilean Rose that died of old age and now a Mexican Red Knee. The Mexican Red Knee was bought as a baby, about .75" long. It is now easily 4". His name is Rosy. He's 5 years old. I've tried toteach my kids that just because something looks scary, most often it is not. Rosy doesn't eat much anymore and it's rump is bald from losing it'surticating hairs. Sometimes gets a little angry when I need to change the water.I have seen him drink, too. He hasn't molted in quite a while. W- Link to comment

Lalani
Interesting creatures although make my skin crawl Anyone know what this may be? Looks like a common house spider to me. The guys over at arachnoboards would probably be able to give you a positive ID. Link to comment
Ebn
Dang, that's a nice looking tarantula. I've never kept one before. I found this in my grandma's backyard awhile back and kept it for awhile. It was a jumper of some sort. Feeding time Link to comment
Lalani
Very cool, I love jumpers. I never thought keeping a spider would be fun, but Toni is really interesting to watch. She's been webbing inside her bark cave and its almost enclosed already, I'll snap a pic later. Link to comment
