Have you ever considered adding Air Plants to that island? http://www.air-plants.com/products/wild-ones-air-plant-kit Your ferns made me think of it. They don't have a root system, and don't need to be put in to a pot. You could just tuck them in to the nooks and crannies of your LR above water and occasionally dunk them in fresh water seperately. The concern would be shading the coral below, but they do eventually come to bloom and that might just be the coolest look ever. Only thing is it may not blend with the palms. Maybe replace the palm with a jade or aloe to match the succulent look. Quote Link to comment
