I just had the most brilliant idea, thanks to you and a random post from jedimasterben. Have you ever considered adding Air Plants to that island?

Your ferns made me think of it. They don't have a root system, and don't need to be put in to a pot. You could just tuck them in to the nooks and crannies of your LR above water and occasionally dunk them in fresh water seperately. The concern would be shading the coral below, but they do eventually come to bloom and that might just be the coolest look ever. Not to bring up something random on your thread, but man I'm putting it on the "to do" list.

I really like that idea. I'm gonna get the air kit large and place them in the nooks and cranny's of

the dry rock. Only thing is it may not blend with the palms. Maybe replace the palm with a jade or aloe to match the succulent look.

Very nice - keep spraying them down (with RO water - probably daily) and they should do well...

 

What does the rockwork look like with the new additions - FTS?

maybe when i fill out my reef tank ...i will start something special like this =p
