SULFERHEAD93
The tank arrived yesterday before the blizzard! It came nicely packaged and all in one piece. I cant get over how good the craftsmenship is. Link to comment
SULFERHEAD93
Today i got the light fixture installed. I picked up an adjustable/ lockable desk lamp from menards for 12 bucks. I took the shade off for the par 38 and drilled it into the side wall of my shelf. Works great fully adjustable and the par 38 will sit about 8 inches off the water line. Note the bulb in the pictures is just a reptile heat lamp. Link to comment

SULFERHEAD93
Merry Christmas! Today I got the rest of my supplies for the tank. the AC 110, Aquatic life 115, hydor nano 425, OC reef par 38, hydor 50 watt heaters and a bag of caribsea live substrate. I ordered a refractometer from marine depot and a api saltwater master test kit also. With all of that I'm pretty much ready to add water in the next few days. I only have one question. How do i make the ac 110 level on the rimless tank? it came with a little level tool that attaches to the bottom of the filter but even with that it still is not level. Link to comment
JR!
stack a few small pieces of card board and put them in between the leveler and the glass. ive done that a few times Link to comment
Looselyhuman
With the AL115 in there, you may not want it level. I have mine tilted back to keep the water level in the AC110 a little higher. FWIW. Link to comment
SULFERHEAD93
Havent updated in awhile but i put water in last thursday and and its looking great. salinity is 1.023 with my marine depot refractometer. Ive been "feeding" the tank to start the cycle. it has 8 pounds of live rock from LFS. The rock looks pretty good and itallready has algae growth. I have also spotted bristle star worms, 2 chitons, tiny feather dusters, and lots of sponges. Link to comment
SULFERHEAD93
The tanks been up for a week now and i was wondering what type of clean up crew would be the best? How many, what type, etc? ideas? Link to comment
SULFERHEAD93
Ok so I just got my clean up crew from reefcleaners a variety of Florida ceriths, dwarf ceriths, nerite snails, and nassarius vibex. They all seem happy and moving around. Also in the past few days I've had this green hair algae pop up. It's growing pretty quickly. My lighting schedule is 8 hours. I use distilled water as a top off it tests at 10 tds. What's the best thing that eats this stuff?? Link to comment

SULFERHEAD93
today i went to walgreens and bought a big bottle of hydrogen peroxide for $3 bucks. I used a clean syringe and put 1ml of H2O2 in and filled the rest with tank water. I sprayed the algae directly. I'll post daily pics to show if this really works. Also my surface skimmer box from Badfish Reef systems came today! It looks sick and is very well made. Link to comment
