Ada Cube Garden 45X27X30 Saltwater

For the past few months I have been edging to being a new saltwater tank. I have been doing lots of research and trying to dig up as much information as I can before I drove in.

So on July 20, 2012, I finally took the plunge.

There is about 12 lbs of live rock and about 8 lbs of live sand.

Currently using Koralia Nano 425 powerhead for current.

I plan to mod my AquaClear 50 box with a AquaClear 20 motor into a macro algae refugium.

My vision for this tank will be to have about 2-3 fish, a cleaner shrimp, and maybe a couple Turbo Snails. But my main focus will be on corals. Currently looking at soft corals like Zoanthids and Xenias.

So that is my current setup and please offer me any constructive criticisms.

Thanks for looking!

My first water change was on August 5, 2012 with my first batch of my very own RO/DI saltwater.

Oh, my first purchase for corals were also around this time.

Some Green Star Polyp (which I have killed...), Xenia, and some Zoanthids.

(Sorry for the dark photos...)

Some of my new Zoanthids

And my Green Star Polyps (though not so green) and Blue Clove Polyps (YAY for hitch hikers)

Finally, a more recent update of the tank.

Nice tank!!

The only comment i have is that i would avoid having GSP on a rock that connects to all the others. It makes tank maintenance a living hell if it decides to take off and overrun other passive coral that are placed beside it.

Just a update for you guys and hopefully I can get some ID on this anemone... it is driving me crazy...

Here are various shots of the tank.

Here is the anemone that I need an ID for.

I am torn between a Green Bubble Tip or the dreaded Majano...

The reason I am so unsure is because the tips seem so separated and all around the centre..

Another one...

And also.... the base seems so long and thin for a GBTA....

I was going to ask why you stuffed the frogspawn in the valley between the two rocks but looking back it is just that your frogspawn grew into that space yes? Two frogspawns even; one from each side?

Is it possible to move one or both? I really liked the older shot where you could clearly see the gap between the rocks. That's probably just my iwagumi voice talking though.

Still looks awesome. Better than mine. ;)

I appreciate your comment.

I combined the frogspawn because I wanted to bring out the candycane coral at the back. I also wanted a larger looking frogspawn.

I just recorded a video of my GBTA eating a silverside. Have a look!

Decided to do a quick video on the progress of my tank.

There was some Red flat worms growing on one of the front rocks so I decided to FW dip it. Unfortunately this wipped out all my blue clove polpys So I think I will just toss out that peice of rock in the front...

Hi guys!

Thought it was about time to update you guys..

Here is an update shot from last night!

The anemone split and one went into the intake of the hang on filter and...made a mess :( I miss him so much..

Only his smaller dime sized brother remains..

Oh right, my peppermint shrimp has passed away as well :( So sad to find his body...

But a new damsel is kicking in great!

the tank looks beautiful!

im flabbergasted by how large your candy cane's heads are! one head appears to be even bigger than the brain coral next to it?!?

Very beautiful setup. What kind of funnel shaped coral is in the top right of the last picture you posted?

looks like a toadstool leather to me
