1.0reef
Guide of clownfish species, variants, and identification (See posts #1, 24, 25, 26, and 35) Let's start with the Percula clownfish A. percula Regular $10-$30 Misbar $10-$30 Oynx $45-$225 C-Quest and Rods (Pictured) Lineage often more expensive, wild specimens often don't have as much black. Onyx Picasso $100+ Very similar to Picasso, but has more black markings. Semi-Picasso $30-$110 These Picasso's don't have many if any connecting points on the stripes, lower pricing than regular Picasso's. Picasso $60-$200 A very well recognized "designer" clownfish, some of the first were from ORA, but are found in the wild. Platinum/Maine Blizzard $150-$190 The result of breeding many Picasso's with more white markings, Maine Blizzards are from SR, Platinums from ORA and others (SA). Bali Aquarich Nebula Picasso$150-$350 has odd white splotches with no black outline Gladiator/Extreme picassos/Rich's BA/Doni's snowcasso/ Bali Aquarich P1s (Picured) $150-$325 Picasso's with lots of white and black markings, some have "helmets" too. Unknown Golden/ Gold orange Hasn't been bred yet, genetic testing hasn't been done so the species could be Percula or Ocellaris. I'm leaning towards Percula. Now for the Ocellaris clownfish A. ocellaris Regular $10-$20 Pigmented iris is an easy to tell feature that distinguishes this species from Percula's, and taller dorsal finnage. Misbar $25 Misbarred clownfish are believed to be the product of clownfish fry in less than preferable conditions. Extreme misbar $40 Usually lacking a full bar, some which only have spots on their cheeks and are black are called "Dominoes." B/W $20-$50 Unlike Onyx clownfish, these Darwin Ocellaris can be all black and white. Naked $40-$60 Completely lacking any white stripes or spots. Stubby $0-$50 A specifically bred fish completely lacking multiple vertebrae, sometimes free due to the extreme deformity. Please do not breed these fish. Semi snowflake $30-80 Da Vinci/Fancy whites/Gladiator $50-$250 Snowflake $30-$125 Buckshots are snowflakes with more spots and cost a bit more Domino(Left) Midnight(Right) $70-$130 Black ice/fancy snowflakes $80-$200 Premium black ice $125-$250 Wyoming whites $80-$600 depending on lineage and age, OG C-Quest ones are more expensive and older. SR/SA ones are cheaper. Caramel $20-$45 B/W misbar/extreme misbar $30-60 Blue tail Darwin, very rare import- $400-$600 Black Snowflake/Phantoms- $60-$200 Blacker Ice/Premium Blacker ice $80-$220 Frostbite (WW x Snowflake var.) $150+ Clownfish USA Swiss Ocellaris $300+ ??? Alpha-Aquaculture-Swiss-Ocellaris SA Wide-Bar Gladiator $60+ SA Longfin/Guppy Hasn't been sold (Bred though!) SR Darwin Longfin (Not bred or sold yet) Hybrid clownfish, "Percularis" (A. occelaris var. x A. percula var.) Sanjay's Double Black/Midnight photon $75 Link to comment

gabe3eb
Black Night, White Night, Dalmations, etc. There are some more. Also, there are some that are much more expensive. I'm not a huge clown nerd, but I think some of the variants you listed are hybrids Perc/Oscellaris. Link to comment
gabe3eb
Again - I'm not extremely well read in the different hybrids out there, but this article actually had a ton of info from reefbuilders.com http://reefbuilders.com/2010/12/06/sustain...wnfish-crosses/ Cool! Now you need to include pics of all the variants . My bet is that if you take some different variants from 2-3 years ago and put them next to pics of different variants from today people would have a hard time getting them all correct . Pickle010
Aren't Da Vinci and Fancy Whites the same thing? - they are both B ( C ) grade Wyomings. Or is it Da Vinci's are B's and Fancy's are more of a C grade? Link to comment
flypenfly
This sounds like the color catalog for cars. 2 Link to comment

Or is it Da Vinci's are B's and Fancy's are more of a C grade? Da'vincis have more white than most fancy whites, and they are sea and reef This sounds like the color catalog for cars. LOL! zooman72
Other Species: Skunk (Amphiprion akallopisos) Barrier-Reef (Amphiprion akindynos) Chagos (Amphiprion chagosensis) Mauritius (Amphiprion chrysogaster) Fire/Red Saddleback (Amphiprion ephippium) Tomato (Amphiprion frenatus) Seychelles (Amphiprion fuscocaudatus) Wide Band (Amphiprion latezonatus) Madagascar (Amphiprion latifasciatus) Not to be a condescending jerk, and I am sure you have good intentions and are quite young (and therefore not aware) if I remember correctly, but could you not capitalize the species name, and have both in italics, as I have edited above... Sorry, it is just a pet-peeve of mine , and I am sure that once pictures are attached to the species it will be quite useful... 2 Link to comment
Psychosis
I actually didn't realize that you're supposed to leave the species name lower case. I'm comparatively young, but I've been reading over various sources of information for years and hadn't noticed that. 1 Link to comment
