Tunze osmolator

I bought the tunze ato and was apprehensive about adding this to my DT. I thought that my mp10 might give it problems and cause to much RO water to pump into my HOB fuge. I was wrong, it is dead on accurate and keeps my SG perfect. I use my mp10 in a way that most people would say will give the tunze problems. I have it on autotune setting but am not selecting a wave, just letting it run through different oscillations. This creates random waves that change about every 15 seconds, but does not effect the tunze. Great product, worth every penny.

Thanks for the review, this is the ATO I will be switching to very soon. Good to hear it works well.

Same for me as well. Just the reassurance and safe of mind that it won't fail is worth every penny and it can stay with you for future upgrade as well.

Guess we could call this the Tunze Osmolator ATO Club now. I installed the Tunze ATO in my sump and it works like a charm. It also has the ever so important "I can sleep with peace of mind" factor.

I'm actually looking at the Tunze osmolator as well. I'm curious, did you purchase the Tunze osmolator 3155 (the original), or the Tunze osmolator nano? I'm currently debating which one to purchase. Personally I like the reliability of the original with the float switch backup, but I'm concerned it may be to big for my Nuvo 16. Which is why I like the size of the nano version; however, I don't like that the nano version is only a float switch...

Love it. It just always works. Only one thing I dislike is once power is restored to the unit; it will go through it's regular testing mode which will run the pump for a continuous 20 seconds. This makes it annoying when performing water changes in the sump. I need to shut off all power to the system, and that includes the Tunze. I assume it runs the pump for that long is to prime the RO line of any bubbles or reverse siphoned RO water. Which is a good thing if you are not around for a few days and your tank experiences a power outage. Overall good bang for your buck. High quality.

The "backup" on the nano consists of a shutoff so that the pump can only run so long in one go before shutting down. There are two duration settings, one for small tanks and one for large tanks.

But I'm considering it so I can reduce clutter in my back chambers and so I don't have to spend 100$ on the laser level detector... If the backup pump shutoff doesn't work to my satisfaction I'll add another float as a backup using the breakout box for the Apex controller.

I'm interested in hearing opinions of people who use the nano version of the osmolator if there are any users out there.

Can I install this on the back compartment filter of my All in One tank?

Either version should fit almost anywhere, you only need room for your output hose and a float switch. The pump goes down in your freshwater topoff reservoir and there is a little controller that you have to mount in your cabinet.

I have this same unit. It's great but I hate that it runs for 20 seconds every time it turns on. Is there a way to disable that? It's a bit of a problem in smaller tanks.

The water level in the back of my Nuvo 16 changes pretty drastically if I turn it off and on again and causes the float switch to trip the audio alarm.

I love my 3155. I have it on a Bio Cube 29. To avoid shutting the unit off every time I kill the return pump I set the high level float switch up on the 2nd magnet mount and put it a couple of inches higher than the optical sensor. I still have to power it down for water changes, but that is about it. It also has the computer based time out feature, so it has triple redundancy.

I've got the Tunze nano ATO and love it. Running in the 3rd chamber of my Biocube 14.

No issues whatsoever, also I don't seem to experience the 20 second prime? Maybe this is not something the nano version does. Anyway, happy customer.

Is this in your third chamber? I need an ato for mine as well.
