Nice work! Maybe i missed it, but what are your plans for lighting?

Not sure yet, Ive gone the DIY route before. So I wanna try either the AI Solo or Vega

Sweet! I've heard good things about those, well the Al Solo... I don't think the Vega is out yet.

Do you have any plans for the livestock?

Can you explain to me how you glued the baffles? looks really clean, almost like you didn't add any silicone at all. Thanks.

Following this thread.... :)

Good start! I got the same AIO for my 20L :) Still working out what I want to put in the chambers. What are your plans?

Yeah theres silicone, just a clean tape job. Its clear Aquarium safe DAP brand silicone

Thanks. Not sure I have floss in the first one now, nothing in the second and heater and return in the 3rd.

Im waiting to see if yankeepete does a media basket, if so Ill do that, and a skimmer in the second.

Yeah right now I have my heater in the first chamber, but I think I'll try and move that down to the third like yours and do some kind of media in the first chamber, or maybe some chaeto, and then a skimmer in the middle.

After watching my tank the past few days and having to contently add water; to keep it above the heater min line.

I think the heater will have to go in the 1st chamber, a media basket in the second, and return pump in the 3rd.

An ATO would help and with the shelf right above it you could use a gravity fed ATO. They are cheap and easy.

Yeah it would but I should be fine after I add a glass / acrylic top to it, leaving the chambers exposed for gas exchange of course.

Here is my media basket in the 2nd chamber :) , Im going to add a second self for Cemi-pure when Its done cycling. I made it loose so it could be collapsed to pull it all the way out (the lip of the trim get in the way)

Im curious to see if / what yankeepetes will look like

it would do the same thing as yours but with a more fancy look to it hehehehehe I like his stuff a lot, its very clean and professional. I will copy this media basket untill yankeepete start making media baskets for us, I bet they will be dirt cheap and professional :)

Here is the start to my media basket for the first chamber. The top tank lip really messes with the design though....

hahahahaha I knew it, it looks awesome man!!!!!!!

Im looking for submergible light for the fuge chamber and found this two options:

Ebay LED

Fountain 10w Halogen Light

Not sure if I really want to mess with the halogen since its a 20g and I dont want overheating issues. What do you guys think? is the LED enough to make the chaeto grow?

Thank you :)

I was also looking for huge lighting. I was first going to get the InTank 10 w submersible(same one you linked too but you found it cheaper on a different site) but he wants $19 + $8 shipping! No way am I going to pay that price for a little light.

I also saw that LED light you posted. But it is 7.5 inches long. It would be enough to grow Cheato for sure.

I'm going to stick with the halogen from the site you found. It won't overheat your tank as it will help supplement the heater. And from what I have heard it really doesn't get all that hot anyways.

So, should I go with LEDs or the Halogen? I thought the same thing, the halogen is way to expensive for what really is but it will help the heater a little bit

I just want to make sure I get the best possible. I liked the suction cups of the LEDS plus the spread is more linear so I dont have to worry about algae growing everywhere inside the filtration chambers, I bet its a PIA to clean those tight spaces.

EDIT: I bought the Halogen light, I like the slim design over the long LED stick. Thanks :)

My little DIY refuge light is cool but it really needs to be 3 or 4 LED's strong. I think I might jump on that halogen light as well. I would not be to worried about any extra heat it puts out.

Here is a picture of the media basket prototype in my tank. It fits really well even with having to size it due to the tank lip...
