nanoFX
Hi, I was in a LFS a couple weeks ago and they had a saltwater seminar type class for people on the salt water hobby. The speaker had mentioned that when using reverse osmosis water from the bottle you should add a buffer to the water. I have never done this just wondering if anyone has heard of this? or maybe he messed up and ment tap water although he said he uses tap water with no additives and put emphasis on the buffer using RO water. Any thoughts? Link to comment
totalimmortal363
I would think using RO/DI for topoff, you wouldn't add anything to it. Link to comment
nanoFX
I add a couple drops of prime every time I put water in my tank, even if it's RO/DI water. You can also add a ph/alk buffer (like kalkwasser) to the water when you do top-off to help stabilize/raise your PH. Not sure which one you meant. Not sure what he ment by adding a buffer to the RO water either, when I heard that I was like oh really thats new to me. Link to comment
