lifen
Just got a reply from Revell! My email: Dear madam, sir, I have two hobbies I'm very fond of. One: making plastic models and two: aquariums. Now it would be great to combine these two in a single project. Long story short, I want to put a Revell model (unpainted and glued with aquarium safe glue) in a saltwater aquarium. My question to you is the following: will it be safe for living things? Or will the plastic leach out toxic substances (or any substances at all)? Kind regards, My name ---- REPLY FROM REVELL ---- April 23, 2012 My name, Please see information below from our Product manager. The plastic will not leach. But our tires (molded in PVC) will leach. They are not safe Revell Consumer Services Angie Link to comment
Fall0n
I like the plane idea. I went another route with my recent nano 16g build - lego submarine with scuba minifigs - http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/f204/d...-started-64152/ Looking forward to the model coming to live as an artificial reef. Brad'snanocube
If you could go to walmart and get a die-cast airplane model that would be cool so you wouldn't have to worry about the plastic but i don't know if it could leak heavy metals into the tank. Link to comment
solefald
there is no way i would put anything metal in my tank. a titanium heater, yes, but not a chinese made diecast model from wal-mart covered in led laced paint. Link to comment
