Why?


It's the awesomest algae ever. All you have to do is touch it and it like dissolves into the water. So easy to get rid of. It gives you this feeling of accomplishment when you DESTROY it. B)

I do that with almost every ID thread. Sad, really. If you just google "dusty brown algae in new saltwater aquarium" you get thousands of web pages just like this one.
